  1. Yea, google failed me, took me to a renault clio page.....
  2. Dude, you're still not allowed to pick movies at Shmoocon because of that.
  3. Heh, you can't even get a "smart phone" without a data plan in the US.
  4. Actually we see green the best, followed by red then blue. That's why night vision goggles' screens are green, we can distinguish more shades of it.
  5. Just use a good wpa2 key and don't worry about it. It also helps to change it every now and then.
  6. You have physical access to the machine. All you need is the os install disk, it has all the tools you need.
  7. My access points don't do their own logging.
  8. Did any of you read the article? It requires a cable attached to the obdii port. Trust me, you're going to notice the thing that's now sticking out by your knees. I know they make bluetooth models now, but I'm not sure of the range, probably not that far. Yes, it will. That car has a obdii port as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Onstar worked wether you're paying for it or not.
  9. Check your isp's tos. Most don't allow sharing. Wow. That's a great way to get an ass kicking out in the ally behind the apartment building.
  10. I know what you want to do, and it's not possible the way you're explaining it. The zaurus pda's will run pretty much anything you can run in backtrack, just slower, so I don't see how they are limited. Like everything, there's pro's and con's to any hardware device. No cellphone tower provides gps signals. The cell towers can triangulate your phone's position, if there's enough towers around you, and there's enough signal. It's a pretty rough location. My first gen iPhone usually put me about a half mile north of where I'm currently sitting. Sometimes it was within a couple houses in bigger cities, but nowhere near accurate to pinpoint a wifi access point. You really don't need gps anyway. I've located rogue access points in multistory buildings with just the zaurus and a directional antenna. Cisco makes a software platform that uses their wifi access points to do inventory tracking within a building. You get better results with more than three access points, but it can locate the devices within a ten foot radius.
  11. Would be better to hack the message to say "Denied Bitches!" At least that's what I'd do, until the HR chick comes around and tells me to change it. ;)
  12. I'd skip the iPaq and get a Zaurus.
  13. The difference between them and this thread is they knew what the hell they were doing. They already make devices that pretty much do what you're talking about. They call them cell phones. You could also do this with a pda.
  14. No one will pay $5000 for a 3g iPhone, they knew what it was. Under CA state law you have to return found property if you have an idea of who it belongs to. Selling said property without making an attempt to return is makes it selling stolen property. They(Gizmodo) probably would have been alright if they just returned it to Apple, but instead, they took it apart and posted a shit ton of pics to the internet. As for the "Apple task force" bullshit, it was the LA county sheriff's department. If they(Gizmodo) gets away with this crap, I'm becoming a reporter/blogger. That way I can purchase myself a stolen Ferrari and write a story about it.
  15. I don't believe there's a free Windows application that will show non-broadcast ssids. Airsnort for windows might still work, but it's no longer supported, and probably won't work with win7.

  17. Weird. I've had no issues with 10.04. Have it running here at work with full disk encryption and at home on "The Box" with full disk encryption. Snappy on both machines, wifi works out of the box on both of them, hell even the touch sensitive switches on the hp laptop at work work. Maybe I got in on it after they fixed a few things, but I've been running it for almost a month now.
  18. Hopefully it didn't get water in the drive.
  19. They've always looked tacky, you're just older now. ;)
  20. You did see the date it was posted right?
  21. That's why you use a dryer sheet!
  22. How's the quality of those little buggers?
