  1. so this may be old, or something new but i recently saw some interesting technologies while browsing the net. 1st was the interactive mirror, http://www.blog.litstudios.com/ 2nd was http://stantum.com/, using multi-touch .......... worth a look i guess.
  2. Looks like some of the presentations from last week's 2008 OWASP NYC AppSec Conference are being posted. Here is the link for the page. Basically your typical Con layout of presentations, some videos/slides are available for download and looks like they are planning on getting most of everything available by the end of October. ;) some of the topics included was the clickjacking vulnerability and others etc..
  3. Well, my roommate has just started P90X and I did a little of that, i just started working out this week, hoping to lose 20 lbs in next 5 months or so... besides that I also just started going to a local gym, lifting weights, and some cardio. Guess now I am gonna have to cut back on the beer drinking some..lol
  4. haha, that is kinda cool. Guess the best option would be to refrain from doing in kind of messaging/chatting on the phone/computer etc while intoxicated.... :)
  5. hmm, i don't really listen to alot of music usually various people streaming from irc channels, anywhere.fm etc, i usually browse away from mainstream canned music and also it depends on the mood, sometimes old skool joints do the trick. Besides that i listen to alot of podcasts/iptv.......... gotta be the geek in me.. :P

  7. Indeed this has been getting alot of press lately. I haven't found too much info on it recently, but will update again then. Currently checking all the podcast links/blogs for more info. <_<
  8. The Hacker's Choice, a non-commercial group of computer security experts, has released a video showing a cloned passport being approved by a security scanner at a Dutch airport. When the reader scans the passport it is revealed to belong to one Elvis Aaron Presley, complete with picture. A blog poston the site explains that the "attack makes it possible to copy, forge and modify the data so that it is still accepted as a genuine valid passport by the terminal." However, the scanner is not the same type used at actual border controls, so it is unclear whether this tool could actually be used to fool passport control security checks.
  9. more info on the whole thing can be found Explaining the “New” TCP Resource Exhaustion Denial of Service (DoS) Attack by Fyodor and http://blog.robertlee.name/.

  12. Yeah, It's about an hour, maybe hour n 15mins from you guys, it's been awhile since I was up there in Williamsburg. I should be getting there actually on time tonight, had to re-arrange my schedule a little bit. I know telmnstr is working on some laser thing, which may lead to something for the next shmoocon. Chris, hate to see that you are moving to Richmond, that's not too far away thou.. See everyone there, Walcy
  13. hehe, yeah someone just sent me this in irc, so had to post, http://kuvaton.com/bshit/1220360595652.jpg
  14. i starting watching from season 1, i kinda know jon, harrison, mubix, and everyone else... i think i fell into the mix, from my last job, met some people down in norfolk, va and from hrgeeks, and fell into the podcast scene with sploitcast, and stuff like that, or it might ah, been from a previous con like shmoocon, err uhm carolinacon etc.. I am not hardcore like most of everyone else althou, i do spend my time on the irc from time to time, and helping people in va beach with projects etc. some friend were killing time one night, was supposed to be a teaser video for shmoocon 08, but never made it..lol it was shot in norfolk,va
  15. Yup, tomorrow is the meeting at 7pm @ Kelly's... I will be running late possibly... but there will be atleast 15 people there, just look around look for atleast 5 iphones at one table..lol
  16. Just wanted to let everyone know of the upcoming hrgeeks meeting in the 757 area of va. The meeting takes place every 2nd Thursday of each month at Kelly's @ Pembroke Mall in va beach around 7pm. Usually there are about 15-20 people there, all geeks, security professionals, few chicks, beer, and good discussions/rants, upcoming projects, cons, etc. If anyone wants to stop by all are welcome, usually if the weather is nice people are either on the outside with a bunch of tables pushed together, or either up stairs same scenario., Thanks, more info is at hrgeeks.com website. http://www.hrgeeks.com/ Walcy
  17. Just wanted to say that the new episode was pretty sweet. Cheers, Walcy
  18. Yeah, I am all for airport security, the whole system just needs to be re-done on the security measures/practices that they use. I don't believe that the checks that they have in place at the current time are designed well enough to stop anyone from doing something crazy. And the checks they have in place, i mean some of them are questionable. I have seen in recent news where a guy couldn't wear various t-shirts. For example the whole transformer's t-shirt with a gun, the guy couldn't go thru security check b/c of it --> http://www.banshirts.com/airport-t-shirt/t...nned-at-airport
  19. @ Harrison Holland I really like the segments you did. It added to the “under ground feel”. I would like to see you do more segments in Hak5 or some other IPTV show. I thought you were in sploitcast, but isn't that podcast dead? Well I can't personally speak for Harrison, but I will on the behalf of SploitCast. The podcast is still alive, well we just have been really slacking. By that I mean people have moved to different parts of the U.S. and gotten jobs in different places around the world and pretty much stay busy 24x7. However, hopefully in the next few weeks there will be a conference call, and get back to discussing security/tech issues soon.
  20. Heh, Well stuff like this happens all the time, and probably happens much more than it is reported. It's not only military, gov personnel, contractors, all sorts of people probably do similar things like this. Not only lost usb sticks, other media as portable harddrives, sd card and other memory cards etc. Even worse if anyone flies alot you can notice in airports people looking/working on company/military/gov stuff all the time. I believe Johnny Long has covered this alot, awhile back he did the no tech hacking thing at shmoocon, and his book well just explains all of that jazz. But back on the usb thing, yeah if you have to have this sensitive data on ya, atleast use something like truecrypt, i learned about that program i dunno 2 or more years ago when mubix and irongeek discussed the program. But yeah this stuff / sensitive data should be on a server, and if you have to access the data atleast have a vpn connection or something. :P
  21. haha, nice video... i have love for all operating systems thou each have their own place, but vista well it belongs in a vmware environment tucked away in a locked room.....lol using silverlight thou it pretty slick
  22. The iKGM-100 is a member of the National Security Agency's family of standard embeddable COMSEC products. The iKGM-100 advanced key generation module is the result of an NSA sponsored design effort to provide the COMSEC community with a security module for medium to high bandwidth data communications. I have played around with something like this, even had all the web-interfaces... /me is drooling... Here is the link. (Zipped PDF,9pp,982KB).
  23. I didn't see a links section, so it must go here. Wikileaks helps everyone safely expose corruption in government and other organizations. Interesting site, I just discovered--> http://www.wikileaks.org/ Wikileaks has started to increase its release schedule. Journalists will have to check the the website frequently, as the volume of material far exceeds our ability to send out press releases. Interesting website, just passing it on...
  24. 'N' - terest -'N' Article, --> http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2008...lot_thre_2.html ooooo, so right.......... /me nods--> :o
  25. Well, IF you google foo, er subscribe to podcasts, there have been alot of coverage on the new broswer etc, the EULA has changed.. i gotta get my apple tv back up in working, arraghg.g..g.g....... there are lots of videos etc out about some of it, i found one on cnet recently talking lil bit about its privacy pitfalls, http://news.cnet.com/1606-2_3-50003579.htm...s&subj=news in case anyone is interested. :P
