PixL
I was wondering, does the channel number the Management AP is set to have any effect on the channel of the Open SSID? If I set the management one to be 5.8ghz channel do I then restrict the pineapple to only connecting with 5.8ghz clients also?
i8igmac
you have 2 radios. You can do what you want with your hardware. 2.4ghz is crouded, congested and full of packet loss. You may experience network performance gains with 5.8ghz
b0N3z
One thing to remember is that 5.8ghz is a shorter range frequency so that is something to keep in mind.

Yes, if the channel selected is of the 5ghz variety, it applies to both your open AP and the managerial AP. I believe the karma/PineAP feature will advertise/hook both 2.8 and 5 regardless of management channel. Just as when the management/open ap was on channel 6, people also can connect via a 5ghz channel. I very well could be daft though. Good question.
