SRG
Hmm. Timely posting. I'm trying to add the AWUS036NHR model. When I run wifi detect, it comes up empty. Sending the output of wifi detect to a text file leaves me with a blank file. Any suggestions? ifconfig does not show it listed. Thanks in advance. thesugarat
Looks like ifconfig is working without it connected. Try hooking it up and showing us the output of ifconfig. Also, you could show us what your /etc/config/wireless file has in it after you hook it up...
Sebkinne
Hmm. Timely posting. I'm trying to add the AWUS036NHR model. When I run wifi detect, it comes up empty. Sending the output of wifi detect to a text file leaves me with a blank file. Any suggestions? ifconfig does not show it listed. Thanks in advance. Easy. "wifi detect" doesn't output and only wants one file. You HAVE to redirect to /etc/config/wireless. Run "wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless" and you'll be good. bASketCaSE
try running wifi detect > /etc/config/wireless && reboot with the alfa plugged in Would these steps also work for the Alfa Awuso36NHA? Or is there just compatibility issues?
jjd
Would these steps also work for the Alfa Awuso36NHA? Or is there just compatibility issues? a google search for Awuso36NHA openwrt returns almost no results so I'm guessing a compatibility issue but I do not have one to test
Sebkinne
Nha works out of the box.
Lockon
The NHA does indeed work as I have it on my rig with no special tweaking or changes to anything other than the defaults. The easiest thing you can do is have the adapter plugged in prior to boot up. SSH into it then type: ifconfig The NHA on my rig shows up as WLAN2. levisiccard
Got my Alfa AWUS036NHA today. Works out of the box. Also in kali linux ... Out of the box! Just like the 036H. Had a 036NHR And sold it at a camper Guy. Trouble card for kali and i personally wouldnt recommend it. If someone has good ecperience with it, forgive me for breking it down. leonardpayne
This worked for me with the NH working as wlan2. Thanks It also solved the problem of a very slow wlan1 used as client mode. Looking forward to the new release
Hike
I've had similar problems with the NHR but the pineapple wiki clearly lists it as "unsupported". http://wiki.wifipineapple.com/index.php/Compatible_Wireless_Cards The NHA works great out of the box so I stopped messing around with the NHR. I know there are drivers that can be loaded and I've gotten the NHR into monitor mode, max power.... in Kali (VM and on the Raspberry Pi). I'm not sure how to load drivers onto the pineapple but this might be a resource for others: http://www.alfa.com.tw/press_c_show.php?sn=5 (info) and http://www.rokland.com/mask/drivers/awus036nhr-linux.zip (driver). cheers
