Hey Gazzdingo,

Could you please give further details as to what your issue is?

Is this just the PCB? Has it got OpenWRT on it?

Are you trying to "clean flash" (serial) it? If so, what UART device are you using?

Does the hornet-ub board power on at all? Do the lights come on when you just connect power to the board? Do they turn off once you plug in the serial connectors? If so, sounds like your wiring is wrong.

As you can see, supplying further details is beneficial. Please do so in the future.

Best Regards,

Sebkinne

clean flashed it via serial with this board http://www.ebay.com/itm/160765044944?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 i also had 3.3v in tx rx swaped over because hornet-ub had the pins on the over side and then the gnd in to gnd so every thing was pluged in correct and no lights are working what so ever

So have you successfully flashed it now?

If not, and you are saying that with ONLY power connected (no serial, usb, ethernet) you get not LEDs, I would say your hornet-ub board is broken.

Hi,

I have a Hornet-UB which I am trying to flash with the wifipineapple firmware. I have also got the usb-uart adaptor. The hornet-ub seems to have the alfa firmware installed and not openWRT. I have tried on both windows and linux to flash the device using the clean flash guide on the wiki and Mr Protocols video. However I am failing at the first step, as I can't even get the boot menu or any serial connection. I have tried pressing 1 as soon as I switch the board on but nothing. The gnd, tx and rx connections are correct and I haven't plugged in the 5v or 3.3v

I don't belive the hornet-ub is damaged in anyway as I can log in to the alfa firmware and I have also checked the usb-uart and this works fine.

I have checked the forum and google and can't seem to find how to resolve this problem.

Can anyone point me in the right direction / is there something obvious I am missing?

Thanks in advance

Check your baud in your "Device Manger" settings. Also make sure you are using the correct COM port.

Or you guys could just buy one from the hakshop.com and save the headache and support the show, just sayin...

Thanks for the reply. I have already checked the settings a number of times but I will try again tonight and keep my fingers crossed.

Just to let you know I have already bought a MK3 and MK4 from the hakshop.com. I wanted to give it a go myself this time (mini project), beginning to wish I hadn't bothered tho...
