Sparda
Dosn't that mean that if you get access by bypassing any security thats in place you can be arrested for computer missuse?
nyphrost
Dosn't that mean that if you get access by bypassing any security thats in place you can be arrested for computer missuse? well let me explain. i do have access to the internet. all and everything on the internet, i just think that they blocked high bandwidth or something like that. I think they did it for students not to access limewire and stuff like that. but i really want to play my game. any advice
Sparda
Ask the admin why you can't connect to WoW servers.
armadaender
Looks like he's blocking particular ports. Although I don't know if WoW uses one particular port or more. I don't see why he/ahe would be blocking them but I would do as Sparda suggested and simply ask him why he's blocking WoW, and probably other apps, ports/traffic. Here's a good question, is it possible to encrypt WoW (or any game for that matter) traffic? I can't see how because it's not like utorrent (built in functionality) but then again there may be something out there that's capable of it. PoyBoy
gotta be a way. or just change the port, of tunnel it through something that isnt blocked. trouble is you need a exit point outside the school network.
metatron
Set up your own WOW server. Google “BlackStorm Server†
leetabix
You can use a method like the paid (the free won't be fast enough I'm guessing) http tunnel service (www.http-tunnel.com), to tunnel through port 80, which you should have access to. You could also use something like Hamachi, a vpn client...but as Sparda said, if you haven't got the permission of the admin you could get into trouble for it. armadaender
Stop playing games during school hours, and learn something instead. As a fellow college student I would have to defend nyphrost here and state that if I were to study all the time and not take a break to play a game or two every once in a while, I would probably become catatonic and die of starvation with my business law book in my lap. One can only take so much of bullshit classes before losing their mind.
