  1. Alli is only 5' 10"? Sheesh! She seemed to tower over Darren and Wess. Maybe it's those camera tricks again. At any rate, shorter guys are better. hehe Last rumor I heard was that the Evil Server had somehow connected to the Neon's computer and trapped Alli inside, driving to its secret location in Quebec. It was theorized that the Evil Server had something to do with the last two major blackouts that happened in the Northeast, so...
  2. I'll say! Put two hotties together and there's much fun to be had.
  3. So you don't want to be hassled with selecting a user account and entering the password when you log into the computer, but you DO want the hassle every time you check your mail? Where's the difference? You could also install a second copy of Thunderbird on a Thumbdrive so that you can completely pull it from the system when you're not using it. I've had two copies installed at one time, before.
  4. I know nothing about Linux, really, but was able to get Ubuntu to install and utilize the Grub bootloader. (Gee, I feel so 'knowledgable' just mentioning Grub. {Snort}) I've seen people mention that Ubuntu is great for people who are new to Linux, but damn. Part of the reason Linux still hasn't done anything noticable to weaken Windows' stranglehold on the market is that Joe User (that would be me) who is technically inclined and actually interested in learning, can still find all too many confusing terms or methodologies in the GUI itself. Microsoft has done a good job of hiding the ugly side of Windows with the GUI. It's certainly going to take a while for me, a Linux dabbler, to feel comfortable using Linux. I could start using it tomorrow full time, but I would hate it. I guess that's how one learns, though. So speaking of Linux, does anyone know how to change the default startup option in Grub, or even how to disable the countdown timer?
  5. Isn't MythTV the one that was recently bought by Yahoo?
  6. It's okay, Melodic. There will be a Reader's Digest version published next month. However, it will not be later published in a "Like, He Said, Like, She Said, Like, OMG!" version.
  7. As far as my friends go it was more than them struggling with their sexuality- basically the gay scene took them in, chewed them up and spit them out. Have they turned straight because of this? Of course not - they can't can they? What some of them do wish however is that they could. This is getting a bit heavy for this board methinks. The gay 'scene' is laughable, in my opinion. Is there a straight scene? The only thing about a gay scene is that it's the most visible collection of gay people. They have their common attitudes, a lot of them look identical, etc. It's nothing more than a post-high school clique. I, personally, never even stepped through the door into the gay 'scene' because it just wasn't me. The people who are a part of it are into things that I am not, and the only thing we have in common is our sexuality. That's not enough for me to call it cozy. There is nothing wrong with being an individual. You do NOT have to be a part of a scene to be happy. Maybe your friend(s) didn't like to party a lot, maybe they didn't like having a group of 50 closest friends, maybe they didn't like being expected to dress or act a certain way. I'm nearly 32 years old and have been inside a bar a total of four times. Being gay doesn't predispose you to a certain way of living.
  8. I never make my sexuality an issue with other people. If my friends or co-workers start talking about their significant others, I will, too. If someone asks me questions, I'll answer honestly. As far as public displays of affection... I don't like seeing other people doing it, and I don't care to be seen doing it. It just makes me uncomfortable. Go suck face somewhere else. Couldn't agree more- but I must also add I find it just amazing that some people who are gay think its a "right" that they can have kids. I have some good friends who have told me they had it hard enough growing up dealing with their own sexuality - they would never have kids and put them through anything approaching what they went through. That's odd... I never had a difficult time growing up that had anything to do with being gay. It was just something that I didn't tell my family until I was 19. Personally, I don't want kids. Never have wanted them, and I can only take them in doses. I don't think anyone has a Right to have children. There are many parents who should not be allowed to have kids. But you do have to commend someone who cannot have children for wanting to raise them. We all know there are too many kids waiting to be adopted or shifted from foster home to foster home.
  9. I didn't think it took 10 years for trends to get across the pond, but isn't that the kind of funky thing that ravers wear? It's a cute picture of you, but I never would have thought it was you. The bleached hair and bug eyes fooled me. So how many times did you bleach your hair? :D
  10. I really don't see how being gay is something that's taught. The attraction to the opposite or same gender as oneself is something that just happens. I never, EVER made a CHOICE to be attracted to guys. And I never made a choice to not be attracted to women. I just started noticing that the people I found attractive while growing up were not the ones that my friends found attractive.
  11. haha Absolutely nothing! That's why it's in the "Everything Else" category. This is the exact same question that was posed to me by a co-worker, and my response is the same: Since I, myself, am gay, I must not have an issue with it. I don't have an issue with straight people either, or anyone in between. Human sexuality isn't a binary thing. There's a lot of grey area, which probably ruffles the feathers of a lot of people.
  12. Oops! I really did use the Search gadget. Anything I searched with the word Torrent brought up all the same results, and nope ... it wasn't showing me a cached page.
  13. Looking for suggestions on quality Bit Torrent clients that don't have hidden spyware, etc. Also want something that's easy to use and doesn't look like some cheap Windows 3.1 File Manager.
  14. Great Jumpin' Jigawatts! The walls are a bit sterile, but it sure must be nice to be surrounded by so many toys. Your photography shots are great!
  15. 6'2" @ 175#. Certainly not enough to make a tight shirt look good. heh
  16. I used to build my own computers, but just got bored with it. When my last notebook, appropriately named The Little Notebook That Could, decided to kick the bucket, it wasn't even a question of Notebook or Desktop. I chose a Dell XPS M170 after the experiences my boyfriend has had with his XPS Gen2, which is practically identical. It does what I want, and more. It's upgradable, has a kick-ass display and looks dead sexy. I like notebooks not for their ability to work on the move, but for the convenience of taking my entire system to wherever I'm going. Not necessarily to be used in between. Notebooks are not the sluggish, Office App-only boxes they used to be.
  17. Things that most people don't like. I drive my co-workers nuts with some of the 70's / 80's music. I don't care for metal or rap, but a smattering of anything can be good. It just has to sound good to my ears, that's all.
  18. It looks a lot like one of the devices we used in high school to do a short film and a newscast. Although, I'm sure that 13 years of time has made this one a bit more...desirable. heh We'll just not talk about the newscast that I had to 'host'. Bleh.
  19. I'll fight you on eBay...'cept that Wess wasn't who I voted for.
  20. Nah, I doubt he plays for my team. :D (im not taking the piss....) :?: Could you translate that to Amurican English? :?
  21. This brings to mind the "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offers... Of course I'm talking about the MX-3000!
