I wasn't going to say anything but now that this has already been said, I thought the same thing to myself when first reading the topic title. wow, i wonder how many of us thought that.

Except the lappy is on MY network. and nah i wont play with windows. I signed a little contract thingie saying i wouldnt break it. so yea. If i really want too i'll just bootup linux live. or end the INternetProxy.exe.

Heh, I recently just got a new laptop, Hp Manifactured, but its a compaq. It seems nice so far. But the school im going tosent it to me, so of course im sure theres a few internet sites disabled. and thats probably why some of the sites load slow, but im happy with the overall prefomace. Its a Compaq nx6310. with a intell centrino Duo @ 1.66GHz. 980mhz fsb, 512 mb of ram and a 50 gig hdd. And for me it was really nicely priced. cause it was free. But i do have to return it. So, so far, I have no problems with it. But then again ive only had a day or 2 to play with it.

is it a bad thing that I understood that when I read it the first time? It's only a bad when you type like that.

Okay so yesterday Im out driving thru neighborhoods(We were looking for houses to buy to i brought my laptop for entertainment), and im going through neighborshoods with my laptop running netstumbler. Well today i was looking thru the logs. I had a channel 56 secured wireless internet named Mt. Rainier. Now mt. rainier is a mountain around here about maybe 50 or so miles from where i was. I think this might be a glitch in Netstumbler because i know the channels here in the states only go up to 11. But netstumbler sees it as a wep encrypted access point.It also has the nice little 001 as the being of the mac address that kinda tells me its a linksys router. So, Input anyone? -edit- okay so i looked around a little bit, apprently the router was a 802.11a. which apprently uses channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64. instead of 1-11. or to 14 in some cases.

Heh, well now its down to about 3 or 4 days, I guess it did just really need some time to configure how fast it could go etc.

It can because it hasn't properly computed the correct completion time. My box initially spits out a rediciouls date then after a few minutes reduces to about a day and a half away. Okay, so hopefully in a little bit this will put out a little more closer date.

So when you first start folding does it always start at a REALLY far away date? cause otherwise im not gunna be done with this one until October of '07

I havent ever really liked Toshiba's laptops. One i had, didnt have enough cooling on the processor, and kept over heating. and they arent really meant for gaming either.

Hehe, I would have installed linux onto their computers but, they are really computer illertirate. Their pretty much a family of gamers, who don't really know what their doing with their computers.(because of the amount of viruses/spyware was the reason i reformatted) but so yes The school district around here sold old p3's for 10 dollars US, but sent the computers out with Ubuntu on them. These people went up there and got one, and didn thave any idea what to do. So i was afraid to put anything other than windows xp on it.

I finally got it to work, though im not sure how i just kept playing with the wires, and then it connected to the internet i think the wire might be a little trippy.

okay so good news, it detects my usb stick, but it still doesnt detect the usb net adapter...maybe because its usb to firewire? need different drivers for that?

okay yes it is intel but *is feeling rather noobish* im not sure which one to download

Okay, So i just redid my friends computer, and i need to set up teir wireless interenter, except the 2wire wireless usb 802.11b adapter isnt detected by windows nor is my usb stick. and restarting isnt doing anything, help?

I have Yahoo, aim, msn and gtalk, but i rarely use aim and yahoo, cause everyone i dont like to tlak to is on aim, yahoo. that and i dont like their messageing clients, i have msn cause mostly everyone i know is on msn and uses that the most, so thus im on msn messenger way more often. its a way to talk to people, even if i dont like it that much.

the keys are the hardest to paint, annoying as hell.

I got a email a little bit ago, and it was for a hacking website called http://www.w4ck1ng.com, asking me to join. telling me that if i didnt want to be left behind in the digital warefare and warez that i need to join blah blah. i looked around a bit on their forums, and it seems like their sending it to awhole bunch of people.
