  1. Yeah, noticed that aswell. All's fine now, couldn't get the client bridging to work on pre-SP1 (v24) of dd-wrt, so upgraded to SP1, went smoothly so it's all good. Got it working as a portable wifi adapter for my arduino. :-)
  2. Got it! It was on 192.168.1.254 (port 9000). Phew, it didn't let me apply the out.hex though, hope that doesn't matter since I've already applied that once, with Jasager. Currently installing dd-wrt on it. *fingers crossed* EDIT: Pretty much screwed since I couldn't apply the new out.hex. *shrug*
  3. Hey guys, I was just about to go from Jasager (openwrt) to dd-wrt. I enabled redboot via: * cd /tmp * wget http://fonera.info/camicia/openwrt-ar531x-...ux-CAMICIA.lzma * mtd -e vmlinux.bin.l7 write openwrt-ar531x-2.4-vmlinux-CAMICIA.lzma vmlinux.bin.l7 * reboot Now while I was connected to the fon, it was using the IP 192.168.1.5, but after the reboot, I can't seem to access it? Does anyone have any clue on what the IP might be, or what the best course of action would be at this point?
  4. So, since you can implement 3G dongle support in dd-wrt and open-wrt, I thought to myself: why not implement it on the Jasager? The point of this post is to more or less "query" you guys to see if someone else has been thinking about the same thing, or even if it's already been implemented. Virtually all routers (no matter how small/big or cheap/pricy) have USB ports, some of them just require that you solder the port on the board, but the connection's should be there. At any rate, I'll put some serious research into this and I'll keep checking if someone out there thinks this is a good idea aswell. Talk about truly mobile jasager! :-) EDIT: Oh, hah, apparently the Fonera 2.0n model already has 3G dongle support. Maybe I can get the older model's serial connection to do the trick and work with 3G dongles aswell. ;-)

    Clark Connect

I've been using ClarkConnect for years now, and I'd recommend it over ANY and ALL distros, if you're looking for ease of use and for the "It Just Works"-feeling. Whether you want to use ClarkConnect as a router/firewall/gateway or even a server box, it can handle all that, and mostly from a web-interface. The community edition has served me very, very well. Never had a breach in the past 4-5 years. :)
  6. Righto, I'll have the final job interview next week. If I get the job, it'll also start next week. So, once I get the job, I'll book a ticket, and be done with it. I'll try to keep you guys posted. :) I'll atleast talk to Moonlit on IRC (which he's not on atm, darn it!) when I know more, but so far it's looking pretty darn promising. And yes, Didanix = Dids.
  7. Personally, I don't do much UI tweaking. When I do want/need to change the Windows Explorer/shell, I go for Directory Opus, especially with Vista. While it's an entire explorer/shell replacement, it mainly acts as a much improved file manager, althoug the features are pretty astonishing. :) For themes, I just go with the Zune theme for XP, Black Vista for Vista.
  8. Yeah, liek let's make one that randomly generates (based on a specific algorithm) pornographic animated pictures that involve the Evil Server and Ceiling Cat, that would be sweet, don't you think?
  9. *yawn* Brute forcing, sounds kinda sexeh. ;)
  10. [me=Didanix]moans & nods.[/me] Gotta agree with this, but as always, there will be some exceptions who are beyond our help.
  11. I noticed that someone (;)) has been fiddling with the forums. The attachments folder is not writable, hence avatars won't work, nor attachments (afaik). Just thought I'd let you know, before it gets into a problem.

  13. Don't you guys just love those tiara's. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2107/1890265516_78d4d3b4bc.jpg[/img]
  14. For coding it's Digitally Imported all the way man, Vocal Trance to be exact.
  15. I thought I might post this here, since as far as I know this is the only website/blog that has an up-to-date list of all the hotfixes for Vista. As most of these are not available through Windows Update and can only be obtained by contacting MS, the direct links on the website help, a lot. I simply downloaded all of these, then made a small batch file that executes all of them without the need to restart after every update. It takes a while to install them, but for me at least it was worth it. Here you go. :) http://aaron-kelley.net/downloads/hotfix/
  16. I could try to translate one ep to finnish and see how it goes. There's quite a few of us finns watching, so it could work. :)
  17. Did anyone ever get this to work? I tried contacting the developer, but atleast he's not answering to his email. Vista simply gives me a Just-In-Time debugging error message, and it doesn't seem to work.
  18. For some reason I love the simplistic design on Tom's blog, always did and propably always will. :-)
  19. So, I was browsing around empornium one day, just to get my daily pr0n, and I came across a little article about a band that made a song about empornium. At this point I never thought the song could be good in any way, not to even mention the other songs by the band. So, I followed the link and downloaded their album (it's free, and legal  ) and man, it's actually quite funny! So, I just thought I'd share the link to their site, since the lyrics are a bit geeky (about MPAA and pirating mostly) and the actual music is quite enjoyable. Lyrics like "Hack the Gibson, Hack the Gibson, I'm seeding bittorrents like a digital pimps son". :D Anyhoo, here's the link. Just click the "Download via HTTP".
  20. Hehe, exactly. Same goes for those "picture frame" screens, it's just silly. It seems MS didn't release the prototype drivers at all, but meh, I'm still going to keep looking if I'd find a PDA/Smartphone driver, since that'd be kinda useful.
  21. It appears there might be a solution for Vista SideShow to work on Pocket PC's and Smartphones, but MS isn't really giving much information about it. It's also possible to write the device driver yourself, maybe I should give it a whack. ;) EDIT: Just found out there's endless possibilities for SideShow, and some of them have already been implemented. These include G15-keyboard, (PocketPC/Smartphone, I think?), HDTV's and a bunch more. AFAIK there's only "prototype drivers" for these, but that's better than nothing, eh?
  22. mm, MCE + TVTonic + Hak5 = Technolust. <3
  23. I think there's a way to set up different wallpapers on different desktops, but I've never really looked that up. Good to know it works. :) I think I found a solution for the wallpaper problem, although I didn't test this yet, it looked valid. Take a look at it here. And yes, duct tape makes it a proof of concept, more or less. ;)
  24. In Finland it's actually legal, considering you do work at the place or have some sort of contract binding you to it (i.e. school). Atleast this is what I've noticed in my last three jobs. :)
