  1. OK, I hacked into your machine, posted that to finally destroy you on the boards, and start my world domination. Oh, and I left you a present on your machine, try checking the system32 file and see if there is anything that doesn't belong...
  2. I was just realizing a mesh network will not work for your situation. Vako you have a good idea (don't quite understand it), but I am pretty sure that the routers they have won't handle that. Bridging is a good idea, but then you are not using your own network recources. Maybe, if you buy another router, and setup DD-WRT on that, then bridge with that one. You can connect to both networks. It is not quite what you asked for, but getting there.
  3. Unless I misread it, it *WAS* set up on a script. The script simply ran once every two minutes, and the machine it was polling didn't exist anymore, so it would eject the drive every 2 minutes. Woops read that one to quick.
  4. This is what I hate about computers, try as I might, sarcasm simply does not port over well to the internet. The *sarcasm* things are lame, so don't say that that is a way to be sarcastic, and yes I was being sarcastic. Just because we are American Sparda does not mean we are all retarded. Although there are a lot of stupid people here, there are a lot of stupid people everywhere.
  5. I just want to be the first to shoot this comment down. This right here is simply Blasphemy!!!
  6. doesnt exist, y? becuase dumb users can not install linux let alone use it. A user who is able to properly use Linux, is easly able to secure windows, or be able to use it with out the need of AV / FW's. its easy Linux is for porn. (jk). www.dell.com/linux www.system76.com gift from a friend / relative my mom uses linux couldn't secure her way out of a windows paper bag Thats one of the few exceptions, even you have to admit that. Ubuntu 7.1 is very user friendly, but still no where near where MS OS's are like XP and Vista. It is ok... I feel sorry for you. Because as much you can call us fanboys, judging from your posts. I wasn't aware of that. I see there are also Windows ports of .NET. Let me say, then, that I simply don't trust Microsoft technology, but that's mostly politics. I also think that their software is typically too complicated. By association I put their languages and APIs in the same category. I've used the Windows API a bit, and I much prefer POSIX. The C++ Programming Language (Bjarne Stroustrup) is the best reference to the language. I didn't use it to learn the language, though. POSIX and Windows API are completely different. POSIX isn't an API, it's a standard. Windows even implements POSIX standards fully, where as Linux and BSD don't. For TomB my friend you carry on with these attacks and this superiority, while you may think of yourself at a high position the truth is you are at a low position. You have great skill but what does that show for you, absolutely nothing, for it is not your bragging and arrogance that gains you respect it is your attitude amongst the people. I do not say this as a foe but as a friend, you must change your ways. If you wish to be a hypocrite, then by far be one, for you may try to undermine us TomB but the truth is your words mean nothing towards me. Now post up a post trying to attack me or call me a fanboy or Linux extremist if that is your will. Thank you TomB. You quote a totally unrelated post, why? I shall quote some of the post from your forums and let people judge for themselves about you Reference: http://k0h.org/portal/index.php?option=com...p;topic=1581.45 So yeah, you ARE a fanboy. You just choose not to accept the truth. Yes I'm a good programmer. You think this shows nothing? I think you'll find this is wrong. It shows I have goals, and determination to get where I need to be. I don't brag, you interpret things I say as bragging. This is not my problem, but yours. You're just a script kiddy and your website proves this. You've always seemed to be jealous of my programming abilities always stating on MSN that you're going to get a better job than me. So k1u, before you try giving 'advice', I want to you understand this; look at yourself first, I don't care about what YOU think of me as your another person on the Internet, and finally stop thinking you are as knowledgable as you think you are, because you're not. I would make this my Sig, but Vako might get mad...
  7. 360 or PC? For me 360, didn't want to put that up there though because of the "PC GAMES" part of the subject.
  8. Thats very creative, but I don't like the 2 minute part. It should have been set up on a script, so when the pings stopped coming back in, it opened and closed the CD rom drive. Still very neat though.
  9. Well shit, just about every time I start up IE 7 it warns me of phishing. Second, that is why MS is doing so well and has something like 96 percent of all computers have their software, because they make it easy, not difficult, I welcome the changes to make things easier (accept when they hurt tech support jobs). This is simply my opinion, I hate it when people start bashing MS when it comes down to it, all of us use it. Even if we run linux, chances are all of us still have MS boxes. So you can complain about it all you want, but MS is where the party's at. What you forgot... linux + the majority of users=Oh shit what do I do, this isn't Microsoft (so if they can't do shit why bother with linux, just stick with MS). Which brings me back to my final point, who gives a shit about 98% of users that aren't us, and don't know much about computers. MS is doing their job with products lke Vista making OS's that are very secure. Linux is fun for messing around with, but when you need to get work done, MS is where it shines.
  10. Current: Orange box All time: Starcraft Future: Crysis I do play more games on my 360 though.
  11. QFE!! Ever sense I have been using my new computer I have not had any problems. I do run SpySweeper, but it has never detected anything more harmful than a cookie.
  12. Hell you are close enough, just get a external hard drive and walk it over there, it would save you a lot of trouble.
  13. Luckily many people are no longer taking Rudi Guliani as a serious candidate, the only thing in his vocabulary was "9/11". The country I am sad to say sometimes does seem to be in state of fear. That is why republicans have been doing so good. Luckily lately more and more people are starting to see the light. Many candidates are still clinging to ideas of defense that have no place in our country. All I am looking for in a candidate is: Someone to stop the torture, keep an open dialog with all countries regardless of if we like them or not (Iran), have a phased withdrawal from Iraq (over a few years), ease up on things like the patriot act, doesn't have their head up their ass, will try and fix our county's/government's economy (average combined debt is 160,000), and stop inflation of the U.S. dollar. With that being said I don't like many of the candidates, Hilary is probably right now who I feel is the best (but she does have her head up her ass), I used to like Obama, but he is taking some bad stances (threatened Iran with military action to stop nucs (which we now know don't exist)).
  14. Hak5 could sponsor this and offer a starting kit for a price as a way to make money.
  15. It's only illegal if you get caught :( ? Depends on where you live.
  16. Sure have your fun, make fun all of us because we are not writing our own OS's. I'm going to go cry in the corner because you make me feel inadequate.
  17. Post edited to better reflect American values (some of the wording is changed to better appeal to America. From U.S. Gov
  18. Can anyone recommend a good book for C++ and C#? Thanks
  19. Why? So many OS's to choose from (many of them free), that will be many times better than yours. It is to much work for the results. Not to burst your bubble, but stick with what is out there. Do you fully understand how much work goes into an OS, DOS alone would take a very long time to make.
