  1. http://www.hak5.org/aardwolf/phreak/ These are some txts I authored between the mid and late 90's when I was active in the phreak scene. One of them led to my eventual bust. If you ever see my tipsy on IRC one night I'd be down wish sharing stories but not here. I started out as a field phreak, running confs for a few groups on dalnet. Then I got really turned onto switching systems and test units. Harris Dracon support was a wealth of information. So were friendly linemen who got started with the bluebox and didn't mind tossing you a manual. My biggest fascination before the bust was Pulse Amplitude Modulation, Pulse Code Modulation, Time Division Multiplexing, and D1 Framing.
  2. Cant comment on after effects as i've never used it. from what i hear its a badass tool for doing special effects. what's your take on it? OT: I'm in need of a compositing tool that will allow me to add gunshots to digital.
  3. Yes, I pwn noob. And to the one that asked if it's a fun game. Just give it a try with your favorite tasty refreshment, the worst that happens is you end up talking smack to the noobs with Wess and I.
  4. Starts again? It's like a 30 second ring tone. Who lets their phone ring for more than 5 seconds?
  5. Don't fire until you see the #FFFFFF pixels in their avatar's eyes
  6. I grew up with a professional ballroom dance instructor / mother. Music around the house in the 80s was mainly dance & pop. It's one of those things that grows on you from childhood so I can't be blamed for the old Madonna or Duran Duran in my playlists.
  7. http://www.hak5.org/wiki/ You add the questions in bold, we answer them. Pretty simple stuff.
  8. Now I'm even more confused. Isn't there a widget for this?
  9. Sorry i gave it about 3 seconds thought. i dont have time to read everything and it looked like a spam bot and smelled like a spambot. Rob731, if your not a spambot please tell us what it is we remind you to trust at the end of each episode of Hak.5. Yes, thats my bot test to the one there.
  10. aside form the noob pwning, Sony Vegas ROCKS. It's the most intuitive and powerful video editing system I've ever used. Some may argue that Avid or Premiere or Final Cut Pro are more powerful, but by how much? And does 10% really matter when a mortal can actually learn Vegas without a 700 page manual anyway? Plus it's less expensive to boot. I give Vegas 11 out of 10 stars. (Though FCP is my second choice)
  11. VaKo, Mubix, have I given you guys enough permission to ban users?
  12. mods, this is an example of a thread that should be deleted. i'd do it myself but i wanted to point that out.
  13. Trying to make a small margin off whatever cost is. depends on how many discs and whos distributing it. dont have any hard numbers as of yet, still in development. will post to homepage as soon as i know more.

  19. The Joshua Tree is a favorite, but don't forget about the good stuff on Achtung Baby, Zooropa, and the awesome track "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" (Yeah I know it's technically not from the 80's but...)
  20. Agreed. Infact you've got your own rank ;)
