  1. I use windows command prompt a lot and in deed it would be a good utility to have. I also tend to always open a shell in administrator mode, so to save me from having to run it as administrator, once I have the shell window up.
  2. If you are hosting your website from a web hosting company, you might want to check out with them to see if there are any issues at their end, or you may want to upgrade to a better plan or service. Now if you are hosting from your own computer at home, then the slowness is your internet connection. Generally your upload speed is a lot slower than your download speed. I run virtual servers at home and I can tell you, the speeds aren't that great. I get an average of 60Kbps to 100Kbps upwards which is OK for what I do. But for hosting a website like Youtube forget it. The users will get very frustrated because its taking a very long time for the videos to load. Hope this helps! Regards, Infiltrator
  3. Was it GoToAssist? I think it works the way you want, all you have to do is send an URL to the end user you are trying to remotely assist. Get he/she to click on the link and bang instant access to their PC.
  4. I agree with you VMs are generally slower and their a purpose to reduce server hardware costs by consolidating them into individual virtual machines, hosted on a single physical machine. I think it may take sometime until they can fully support game applications. For the time being, they are better suited for enterprises wanting to consolidate their servers and to reduce their running costs.
  5. Yes, that link is just to 'Amazon' but have you checked the products on that the link, it my have something that appeals to you.
  6. Come on Mr-Protocol, give him a chance to learn.
  7. You should check out this Hak5 wiki, http://www.hak5.org/w/index.php/Remotely_Install_VNC Edit: or watch this hak5 video http://www.5min.com/Video/Remotely-install...etwork-28661118
  8. Virtual machines are usually slower than the host operating system. So if you want to play games and have a good FPS, just install it on a normal machine. You can still try for experimentation purposes it would be good to know the results tough. Edit: This link can give you more info, http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/virtual...ort-vmware.html
  9. I would recommend PHP, its easy and well supported and documented.
  10. Sounds good, have our own opensource distributed cracking system. I have quite a lot of processing power, that could be put for something good. 1. Generating Rainbow tables. 2. Or better yet, for cracking WPA and NTLM hashes And for other good things of course. I'm also planning, in building a couple of new systems with the New i7 CPU that has over 12 cores, coupled with a pair of 2 NVIDIA graphics card.
  11. If you right click on the screen does it come up with a menu, with an option Mark on it. If it does, all you have to do is select "mark" -> Select the text you want -> and then press enter to copy the text. Try that to see if it works.
  12. Or you could set up some kind of firewall like Untangle with Spam filter.
  13. I am being serious and honest, it was kind boring at home and didn't have anything else to do, then search for teens.
  14. At least you know how to cut and paste, that's something better than not knowing anything. And plus that's why we are all here, in these forums to learn whether we know something or not Let me know if I can help with anything in the future. Just PM me if not sure of something, I will do my best to help. That's why I signed up with Hak5.
  15. I've noticed that too, the other day I was searching for Teens Porn and that did not come up listed in the google search box. Some people find it offending, I don't
  16. I think what you need, is to set up a proxy server on the outside of the restricted network. 2 ways you can achieve that. Step 1: You can set up Apache as a webserver and install glype and SSL to encrypt the traffic. Or step 2: Set up a SSH server and use Putty on the client side to establish a connection with SSH server. (you will need to use Dynamic Socks in the browser instead of proxy)
  17. I think he means, how much traffic can their servers will sustain if it gets hit by a DOS attack.
  18. I wouldn't say Windows sucks, it may not be as good as Linux but it still do a good job. There are certain things you can't do with Linux that you have to do with Windows. 2 reasons for BOSD, hardware issue or software issue (have you updated any driver or install any software lately) if not it sound more like a hardware issue to me.
  19. Buy an ADSL modem that supports Dynamic DNS, that way you don't have to worry about install any DynDNs application on your computer. It's all done at the modem level for you.
  20. This video has nothing to do with detecting fire with a camera, but it does however have motion detector. Which you could replace with a heat detector and perhaps have a camera hooked to it. It should give you some ideas. This link on the other hand, has some Infra Red cameras http://www.directindustry.com/cat/detectio...AB-562-_31.html You could redesign them, in such a way that when it detects heat it could alert you via an SMS or Email.
  21. I can only do basic coding, but real programming its something that I really struggle with. I can still get away with PHP, but other languages like C or Java don't ask me. I'm good with network security, server installation and configuration, wireless and hacking.
  22. Since it displays the signal strength, then I guess it doesn't need to know whether the wireless is broadcasting its SSID or not.
