    PC world

There's a topic already about learning about hacking at https://forums.hak5.org/topic/913-hacking-where-to-begin/ But when it comes down to it, Mac OSX, and Apple hardware in general, is the very antithesis of hacking, and the hacker mindset. No control over the OS or hardware? No thanks. Start with learning how a computer works. Then perhaps build your own. Doesn't have to be crazy expensive, but learning the basics of building is a great idea. Hak5 and Tekthing have both done PC builds in the past, so while outdated on latest tech, the basics remain the same. Once again, as for the best specs for pen testing? Well that all depends what you are doing.
  2. https://books.google.ie/books/about/Penetration_Testing.html?id=T_LlAwAAQBAJ&source=kp_cover&redir_esc=y I find this to be a great starting point personally, written by one of the best out there. Shannon mentioned it a few years back on Hak5 and I personally love it.

  4. Company Wifi? Just blacklist the devices if they are privately owned ones and not company ones so they can't connect. Problem solved.
  5. It depends on your method of attack. Can you get direct access for a few seconds? USB Rubber Ducky is your first port of call. Perhaps you can somehow get access for longer? Then a Lan Turtle is a great choice, as is the Packet Squirrel. Can't get direct access, but can get close enough to sniff their wifi? Then a Pineapple is a great choice, Nano or Tetra, depends on what you want to do exactly. It all comes down to what you want to do.

  7. It's been wiped, realistically no. I notice you've asked two questions about Apple products, perhaps contact Apple.
  8. If you don't know how to connect to a targetted network and get the IP address of a device on it, than perhaps you shouldn't be trying to. I doubt you've permission to do it. Now what you could do, is setup a small web cam on a different network, or make a virtual network and test things that way?
  9. Not a case of can, but will I. And no, no one on here will tell you how to do that.
  10. As a business, why don't you contact the maker of Netman and ask them?
  11. https://forums.hak5.org/topic/913-hacking-where-to-begin/ Top of this very forum...
  12. You misunderstand. Discussion about cracking certain things, such as penetration testing within our own environments is one thing. You asked for assistance to deliberately deface a website, which is illegal. We do not assist with or condone such behaviour.
  13. No. Just no. We wont help you do that here.
  14. I never use it unless I've a very solid VPN setup, and even then I'd rather use my phones connection.
  15. Posting everywhere is not a good idea. If no one responded in the correct sections, it's because they do not know. Posting everywhere is poor forum etiquette.
  16. Well, in fairness you're asking in the wrong place, as the pinned topic clearly states: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/28600-do-not-post-wifi-pineapple-related-questions-here/ You'd be best looking in the section for the nano: https://forums.hak5.org/forum/89-wifi-pineapple-nano/
  17. There was no need to post this three time. Also, https://forums.hak5.org/topic/913-hacking-where-to-begin/ There is a pinned topic on it.
  18. Hi, welcome to the forums. Firstly: https://forums.hak5.org/topic/28600-do-not-post-wifi-pineapple-related-questions-here/ Secondly: https://forums.hak5.org/forum/91-wifi-pineapple-tetra/
  19. Hello there, It seems like you are looking for help with regards to one of the pieces of hardware that Hak5 make. Did you know that each device has it's own dedicated section of the forums? You asked about the USB Rubber Ducky, you can find more information at the link: https://forums.hak5.org/forum/56-usb-rubber-ducky/
  20. You asked yourself if you had found the solution to your own issue..... Regardless, try looking in the correct section of the forums. https://forums.hak5.org/forum/56-usb-rubber-ducky/
  21. https://forums.hak5.org/forum/92-bash-bunny/ Best bet to check the actual section for it to see if there is any help or comments.
  22. https://forums.hak5.org/forum/56-usb-rubber-ducky/ Whole section with all the usual fixes and FAQs.
  23. There is a whole topic about where to start learning. https://forums.hak5.org/topic/913-hacking-where-to-begin/
