If you were good with electronics you could dupt the output wires to a small lcd screen. I wired it to keyboard out so im sure the same thing would work.. the whole unit is about the size of a cell phone, maybe a bit bigger so its still fairly portable.

So now i think its all working, I tried running hamster/ferrit but ferret is not generating the hamster.txt and hamsters just complains "hamster.txt: No such file or directory" Any ideas why its not generating it? Would it only create on if there is traffic or would it always generate one?

So i tried to flash my fon 2201 with AP41 easy flash, i used the external files for rootfs and kernel * In the GUI under Rootfs check Use external file and browse to gargoyle_1.0.0_beta2-fonplus-2.6-root.squashfs. Under Kernel check Use external file and browse to gargoyle_1.0.0_beta2-fonplus-2.6-vmlinux.lzma. * Select your Ethernet interface from the Interface drop-down. Once it finished flashing it reboots but then i can ping 192.168.1.1 but i can not telnet or ssh into it.

I took one of an older retail monitor and wired up the pins to a keyboard plug, (took a while to figure it out) but now.. works wonders, swipe and it prints in plain text what ever data is on the card :)

I for the most part found out how to add heartbeat to any router, just need someone to wireshark the fon and see what its sending to where.

Good to know, i got to redboot, but the tutorial i was looking at was getting you to check a bunch of hex keys and some of mine did not match, so thats what threw me off. It said if it doesnt match follow this tutorial which says to let it upgrade then work from that????

I just got my Fon 2201 today and it has Firmware Version: 1.1.0 r2 Now one of the unlocking guides said to upgrade it first before unlocking it, then on the forums i read not to plug it in to the wan... so whats the proper way to get jausager on this?

Isnt Jausager a firmware ?so wont it overwrite the fon+ firmware?

At least it would work for calling out. so inorder to buy one would i just pick a state and get a US phone number?

Super easy way is using Macshift I made 3 batch files to do it for me one for restore to original, one to make a random one and one to let you enter one. Command line script and super easy to use!

Let me know if you come up with anything, i would just use some random buddies internet then set up some as AP's and some as repeaters to drop around. ettercap would work but you would need a computer to be there to do the dirty work. if you could find a way to build it into the firmware it would be good to go! There is a service called "my ad network" in the new ddwrt firmware that does it through a third party company.. but i would rather do it my self and not give away half the profits! . so i might try and decomplile it and see what if there's anything useful in there :)

I was thinking of making a few free wifi spots with ads injected into them. So far the only way i can think of how to do is is forcing it through a proxy and restrict them to just the proxy.. but there has to be a cleaner way of just injecting some code into pages... any one have any ideas?

Nicely done, i have been thinking of building voip box lately. so thats works for just outbound correct? and is it a yearly fee for magic jack? then unlimited calls to anywhere or? Any solutions for line in?

You could use 2 fons or any router with autoap to makeit computer less.. Im guessing you could have a cron to copy contents from /tmp to your memory card.
