  1. Hi, I am trying to do a replay attack on a remote control that I have. I can capture the signals fine but when I go to decode it the wave form looks very strange and very difficult to decode. The remote sends the same string 10 times. Maybe I'm missing something? I don't know. I would love some help from anyone and your answer would be greatly valued 🙂 Please see the following pictures Zoomed in The whole string zoomed out
  2. Hi, Starting of on a new project again, I'd be interested to learn more about analysing DECT communication through a HackRF. Is there any specific research that you think I should read up on? I've done my first steps with the hackrf: hacking the garagedoor, listening in on the babymonitor, ... now I'd like to start learning about DECT phones, but I'm 100% new to the subject.
  3. has anyone seen or used one of PandwaRF, seem quite cheap, I wanted the HackRF but could never afford one
  4. Greetings, Recently, Mozilla sponsored an "art show" in NYC called "The Glass Room." The topic was privacy and data. One of the exhibits, by "Critical Engineering Working Group", had yagi-uda antennas passively scanning and collecting wifi enabled devices (phones, laptops, etc), that were looking to connect to a network. The data they were able to collect were things like device name, MAC address, preferred network list, and location. I want to recreate this exhibit. Ideally, the collected data would dump into a database where it could be interpreted later to establish a pattern. In the community's mind, what is the best way to complete this project? Here's the link to "The Glass Room" https://theglassroomnyc.org/artists-2/ Any information would be huge! Cheers

SamyK released his code for hacking garage doors that use fixed codes. He took a Mattel Radica Girltech IM-ME toy, rewrote the firmware, and is able to open any of the affected systems within 29 minutes. Check out his code on GitHub along with his detailed explanation of how it works. He admits the code is bricked to prevent criminals from using the code. Here is a quote: Moral of the story is get a device that uses rolling codes.
  6. Alright, so I decided to write up a short intro to RF. Its got the basics of electromagnetic waves, including definitions like wavelenght, frequency and so on. It goes on to describe a few basic digital modulation techniques, how they work and what they're used for. Finally, it goes on about sampling and why we need I/Q sampling and what it actually is. Hope its helpful to someone out there! http://www.mediafire.com/view/yza84fmazflonl0/rf.pdf I quite like writing up tutorials, so if anyone's got any other ideas or requests they'd like in a tutorial like this, comment what you think! It can be more technical, practical or even theoretical if people prefer! Let me know what you all think!
  7. I am having wireless trouble at home. My Wifi randomly disconnects. Sometimes frequently and other times sparadicly but it happens on a daily basis. It has to be some sort of interference. I've gone through 4 routers and jumped around channels but the problem remains. Will the ubertooth one help me identify what is causing the interference and which channel i should change my wireless too. I have a 2.4ghz/5ghz router. I saw that the "Wi-Spy" will probably help identify my problem but I don't want to spend close to a grand in cash when I can spend just a little over $100 bucks at the hakshop for the ubertooth one. Any help/suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.
