intelspeed Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Just wondering if anyone has ever decided to put a mini pc or anything in there car yet? I was thinking about it awhile ago and wondered if anyone had done it here? Quote
metatron Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I have one in my Dodge, as long as you buy a PSU which is designed for car use and can handle the fluctuations in the power your be fine. It is also worth using rubber mounts for the hard drive to help absorb any of the shock and vibration it may get. Quote

Sparda Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 You should get one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=97790 Not too good on the fuel consumption though. Quote

dhp1080 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Or you could get a simple UPS with buck-boost (voltage regulation) and plug your gear into that. It should work out the issues of currency inconsistencies. I just want a car GPS unit. :-( Quote

Just install Linux on it and some free mapping software and you’re good to go, for next to nothing. Quote

Maybe I'll just keep dreaming about my tricked out BMW M5 :-D Quote
