EDIT: I re-inserted the SD card and it popped up.

/dev/sdcard/sd1           6.2G     50.2M      5.8G   1% /sd

Do I just proceed as normal or do I have to do something with the SD card?

When you're sure it's mounted correctly, you can install it as normal. It should install to /sd
If the kernel doesn't hickup that is, while installing.

Hi,

i upgraded my pineapple nano to latest fw installed: 2.0.2

Then factory reset and connect it to my access point with wlan2

after that i run the install command from bash and try to run launch-mana but nothing start:

root@Pineapple:~# wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adde88/hostapd-mana/master/INSTALL.sh | bash -s -- -v -v
Installing: MANA-Toolkit.
Go grab a cup of coffee, this can take a little while...

I haven't tested it on the latest FW yet. I'll actually do it right away.
BUT, I  do know that the SD-card issue/bug alot of people have experienced is STILL present on the latest FW 2.0.2, forcing me to use a usb-memory stick mounted as /sd.
It could be that this is your problem. (Confirmed with the output from dmesg after a failed launch have happened)
I'll do a test on my nano and tetra right away.

You could just for testing show me the output of this command:

find / -name hostapd-mana

Hi,

thanks for fast reply, the output command:

Could you post your $PATH output?

Thanks again

You actually reminded me that i had to edit my /etc/profile file to force-change my $PATH to this, while i worked on some other stuff:

/usr/bin/pineapple:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/sd/usr/bin:/sd/usr/sbin

Try that. Here's a copy of my profile file: https://pastebin.com/dcuy18Jc  (Yes, it has colorization ;P )

I think i'll downgrade pineapple nano firmware...

It's running stable on my  Tetra at the moment.
I'll do some testing on my Nano in a moment.

I've done some testing on my Nano. It failed to start sslsplit due to some missing environment libraries needed to get it working properly (LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PATH)
I've updated the launch-mana script to include it at launch-time, but it should really be added to /etc/profile in my opinion.

@Zylla hey man,i also have the sslsplit issue with the same error above.i used the stuff from your paste bin(i also had path issues) and i sftped the module. i also cant  install dependencies (yellow for 5sec then red) running latest firmware with an sd (nano) any help? can i run sslstrip2 from the module? or dnsproxy2?(newbie here)

EDIT: i noticed that when linking for the module, its called Mana Toolkit with a space(thats in the modules section where we pick modules such as wps,cabinet,dwall...) when in other cases its called ManaToolkit (no space) (could this be the issue? how to fix?(image attached)

I just checked my Tetra (as i don't remember right of the bat what my scripts said). The module-directory should not have a space in it.
It should be: /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit

About the PATH issue, if you used my pastebin and edited your /etc/profile file you need to either reboot, or "source the file" to make the changes to the current environment active.
Example:

nano /etc/profile
source /etc/profile

I just placed nano on the line as an example for using it to edit the file, source is then used after the changes have been saved.

Yes, the module (at the moment) automatically launches sslstrip2 and dns2proxy itself.
But, after installing everything you can chose to use them over SSH manually. If you want to only use it.

I'd love to make the module more customizable about stuff being launched, instead of it just being a simple script launching everything needed for one attack.
Because there's a lot of attack vectors that exist when you're being the mitm.
Sadly, I've barely had any time to work on this lately.

i fixed my dependencies not installing by using this: bash /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit/scripts/dependencies.sh install sd

there was permission issues. Meanwhile,i tried start mana in the module using wlan1, it doesn't start so i tried checking manually over ssh,i got whats in the picture. can you type in a command that links those? i think ill try to put all errors that happened with me and post them once i get things done to reduce questions for others(maybe a video)

root@Pineapple:~#

Is this output after getting the failed attempts to start Mana?
I'm asking if you have a SD-card because there are reports of several users experiencing problems with their sd-cards.
Especially when using software like this, which is demanding on the devices CPU/RAM/Storage etc.

I cannot see anything wrong in that output, but it's looking like it's only been online for 40 sec before you tested.
Try giving it a few more attempts to run, and check the dmesg for anything looking like the lines below:

You could also attempt to trigger the "bug" by issuing this command:

badblocks -e 100 -v /dev/sdcard/sd1

And then checking dmesg.

ive been online for 40min now,its giving

[ 106.780000] EXT4-fs (sdb1): couldn't mount as ext3 due to feature incompatibilities
[ 106.790000] EXT4-fs (sdb1): couldn't mount as ext2 due to feature incompatibilities

as you can see below and badblocks is not installed. so my solution is mounting in a usb now?

Forgive me, i forgot one needed to install badblocks first:
( opkg update ; opkg install badblocks )

[ 106.780000] EXT4-fs (sdb1): couldn't mount as ext3 due to feature incompatibilities
[ 106.790000] EXT4-fs (sdb1): couldn't mount as ext2 due to feature incompatibilities

The lines above is not a clear indication of issues with the sd-card, HOWEVER!
There's is one tell there that tells me you're experiencing the SD-bug, and that is the device-name at the beginning of those lines:   sdb1

When you first boot the Nano, the device-name given to the SD-card is: sda
When the bug happens the kernel will notice that the usb-device (sd-card) have disconnected.
And then a couple seconds after that it will re-connect, and it will be given a new device-name: sdb
If it happens a third time, it will be: sdc   and then so on... sda -> sdb -> sdc -> sdd -> sde

I suggest that you take out your SD-card, then factory-reset your Nano.
Then you plugin a memory-stick formatted the same as the Nano. (ext4+swap partition)
And then you mount that stick as /sd "fooling" the Nano to think it's a SD-card.

You will need to edit the swap-file, which can be found under the Advanced tab of the Pineapple web-gui.
Here is my swap-file (the mount stuff) :

config mount
	option target '/mnt'
	option device '/dev/sda1'
	option fstype 'auto'
	option options 'rw,sync'
	option enabled '1'

okay its mounted and trying to install again. Now the bigger question is..how am i supposed to provide traffic (wlan2) if the usb stick took its place lol. can i use wlan0  somehow for it? because in the networking section it shows only wlan1 which is needed for mana

This bug is why i’m a bit hesitant with launching the project as a full module. As many people use another wifi adapter with the nano.

The SD-card issue either needs to be fixed by a firmware update, OR you can do as i do; use a USB-hub. Which will make it less portable. :(

@Zylla i have typed a full tutorial for your script zylla. These are all the steps required for a nano user to have MANA installed. Use this as your own or edit to spare yourself from the trouble of explaining everything over and over again. I also quoted some stuff you typed. Thank you again.

What you need:
# Wifi Pineapple Nano Connected To a Pc with Internet
# USB Hub
# A Regular Usb Drive
# A Third Compatible Radio( Prefer RALINK USB WIFI RT5370)

-Go To http://172.16.42.1:1471 and navigate to Advanced and backup whats in Fstab.
-Remove your sd card if its there,Go to Configuration and Perform a Factory reset.
-Meanwhile,plug in your USB drive to your PC and Format your USB to (ext4+swap partition). You can use an App such as PartitionGURU to accomplish that.
-Connect your Pineapple back to PC, Navigate to http://172.16.42.1:1471 and after setting up your fresh pineapple, Go to Configuration and edit Fstab to:

config global
    option anon_swap '0'
    option anon_mount '0'
    option auto_swap '1'
    option auto_mount '1'
    option delay_root '5'
    option check_fs '0'

config mount
    option target '/mnt'
    option device '/dev/sda1'
    option fstype 'auto'
    option options 'rw,sync'
    option enabled '1'

Then, Format your SD card also in configuration, Save Fstab again.
To make sure everything is working, try downloading a module and check if it recognises the sd card

Open your favorite SSH tool and SSH into your pineapple  and type:

1. fdisk -l

2. Check if your thumb drive is listed

3. mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb1 /sd/

Your Pineapple now thinks the USB drive is an SD Card.

###NOW THE INSTALLATION OF THE MANA TOOLKIT###

In your pineapple terminal (SSH),type the following installation code ( This might take up to an hour!):

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adde88/hostapd-mana/master/INSTALL.sh | bash -s -- -v -v

When installation is Done, Type launch-mana
If "launch-mana Not found" error pops up,you need to OPEN this link and copy everything to your terminal(we are linking files)

https://pastebin.com/dcuy18Jc

Typing Launch-mana will now give a result!

###INSTALLING ZYLLA'S MODULE###

Git Clone this OR download it it as ZIP to your PC and Unzip

https://github.com/adde88/ManaToolkit

1-If you downloaded as ZIP, you will need an sFTP App to upload the files to your pineapple. Personally i use WinSCP
and in Username type root/ Password (yourpassword when logging in to SSH or http://172.16.42.1:1471) and type 172.16.42.1 under hostname and 22 for Port.

2-Go to The Cabinet Module in http://172.16.42.1:1471 (download it if necessary) and navigate to /sd/modules. Create a Folder Called ManaToolkit.
Return To sFTP and transfer your Unzipped files to     /sd/modules/ManaToolkit

3-Close sFTP

4-Go to Cabinet,navigate to /sd/modules/ManaToolkit/ and edit module.info

5-Change this part: "title": "Mana Toolkit", to "title": "ManaToolkit",

6-Go to your SSH terminal and type this command to link your module to the previously download mana toolkit:

ln -s /sd/modules/ManaToolkit /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit

SKIP parts 1 to 6 if you used GIT clone (except part 5)

-Refresh http://172.16.42.1:1471. You must now see the ManaToolkit Module
Installing dependencies will fail. You must do it manually if you downloaded as ZIP.
Go to your SSH terminal and type:

bash /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit/scripts/dependencies.sh install sd

-We added bash command because there was a permission issue.

DONE!! Reboot your Wifi-Pineapple and The module now works!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

##Notes##

-You can also run launch-mana in console

-You will need the USB HUB to connect the USB with the third radio because you need internet for mana to work.

- USB is required because of a bug :

When you first boot the Nano, the device-name given to the SD-card is: sda
When the bug happens the kernel will notice that the usb-device (sd-card) have disconnected.
And then a couple seconds after that it will re-connect, and it will be given a new device-name: sdb
If it happens a third time, it will be: sdc   and then so on... sda -> sdb -> sdc -> sdd -> sde

-If you get pineapple is offline, make sure in Networking Page, you have Wlan2 connected to network.

- Here's something that should increase the performance of the toolkit significantly.
After you've finished installing everything, type this into a SSH terminal on the Nano:

python -m compileall
python -m compileall `find /sd/usr/share/mana-toolkit -name *.py`
python -m compileall `find /sd/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages -name *.py`

This will pre-compile all the python scripts + libraries on your Nano (It will take some time to finish), but the Nano no longer needs to compile said files each time they're being used.

    option auto_swap '1'
    option auto_mount '1'
    option delay_root '5'
    option check_fs '0'

config mount
    option target '/mnt'
    option device '/dev/sda1'
    option fstype 'auto'
    option options 'rw,sync'
    option enabled '1'

Then, Format your SD card also in configuration, Save Fstab again.
To make sure everything is working, try downloading a module and check if it recognises the sd card

Open your favorite SSH tool and SSH into your pineapple    and type:

1. fdisk -l

2. Check if your thumb drive is listed

3. mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb1 /sd/

Your Pineapple now thinks the USB drive is an SD Card.

###NOW THE INSTALLATION OF THE MANA TOOLKIT###

In your pineapple terminal (SSH),type the following installation code ( This might take up to an hour!)

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adde88/hostapd-mana/master/INSTALL.sh | bash -s -- -v -v

When installation is Done, Type launch-mana
If launch-mana isn't found error pops, you need to OPEN this link and copy everything to your terminal(we are linking files)

https://pastebin.com/dcuy18Jc

Typing Launch-mana is now working.

###INSTALLING ZYLLA'S MODULE###

Git Clone this or download it it as ZIP to your PC and Unzip

https://github.com/adde88/ManaToolkit

-If you downloaded as ZIP, you will need an sFTP App to upload the files to your pineapple. Personally i use WinSCP
and in Username type root/ Password (yourpassword when logging in to SSH or http://172.16.42.1:1471) and type 172.16.42.1 under hostname and 22 for Port.

-Go to The Cabinet Module in http://172.16.42.1:1471 (download it if necessary) and navigate to /sd/modules. Create a Folder Called ManaToolkit.
Return To sFTP and transfer your Unzipped files to     /sd/modules/ManaToolkit

-Close sFTP

-Go to Cabinet, navigate to /sd/modules/ManaToolkit/ and edit module.info

-Change this part: "title": "Mana Toolkit", to "title": "ManaToolkit",

-Go to your SSH terminal and type this command to link your module to the previously download mana toolkit:

ln -s /sd/modules/ManaToolkit /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit

-Refresh http://172.16.42.1:1471. You must now see the ManaToolkit Module
Installing dependencies will fail. You must do it manually
Go to your SSH terminal and type:

bash /pineapple/modules/ManaToolkit/scripts/dependencies.sh install sd

-We added bash command because there was a permission issue.

DONE!! Reboot your Wifi-Pineapple and The module now works!

Damn. I'm impressed. Thanks for taking your time to write this. :)
The permission issue usually appears if you've downloaded the module as a ZIP file, or had the files cloned to a Windows folder. (FTP and Windows don't store permissions)
It works perfectly if using Linux or git on the Pineapple itself. (I'll look into fixing this)

The editing of module.info though is something new, i'll look into the above issue and this one today.

Btw, if you haven't noticed my thread about "CPU performance increase" regarding Python stuff, here's something that should increase the performance of the toolkit significantly.
After you've finished installing everything, type this into a SSH terminal on the Nano:

python -m compileall
python -m compileall `find /sd/usr/share/mana-toolkit -name *.py`
python -m compileall `find /sd/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages -name *.py`

This will pre-compile all the python scripts + libraries on your Nano (It will take some time to finish), but the Nano no longer needs to compile said files each time they're being used.

I just edited the post to include the performance thingy+typos. About the module.info i don't know how it could affect things but i thought it was right to remove the space. i didn't give it much thought. i can't wait to find a nice tiny USB hub and test mana.

@ZyllaQuick question,i noticed you said to format USB at ext4 plus swap? well i assumed it means to just add another partition to it(also ext4). i plugged a different USB to nano (which has 2 partitions). it recognises that there are 2 partitions when i type fdisk -l. i mounted both. it recognises it as SD now. Was that what you meant? i needed to add another partition? or do i keep it at 1 peace as ext4?

It just needs to be partitioned identically to the Nano. Which is one ext4 partition for data, and one swapping partition. :)

does the nano auto create the swap files when formatting? or do i need to run commands such as:

umount /dev/sdb1

mkswap /dev/sdb1

swapon -p 32767 /dev/sdb1 (I'm getting an error here. Which is odd. That's why Im asking)

My Fstab:

config global
    option anon_swap '0'
    option anon_mount '0'
    option auto_swap '1'
    option auto_mount '1'
    option delay_root '5'
    option check_fs '0'

config mount
    option target '/mnt'
    option device '/dev/sda1'
    option fstype 'auto'
    option options 'rw,sync'
    option enabled '1'
