UltimatePeter
Probably a very simple question: There should be no problem with hooking this into a plug for a 12 volt car lighter right? Since the power is flexible to take 5 - 12 volt...
Mr-Protocol
The AC Adapter that comes with the Mark V has the output ratings at 9V 1.5A so you will have to calculate your power and make sure it wont blow it up :P
UltimatePeter
Yeah, but wifipineapple.com says, "Flexible power options. Variable voltages for operation from 5v - 12v sources." which makes me think that plugging it into the car should be fine. Boosted240
The battery in the travel kit is 12v...
leg3nd
You can at least get a DC to AC converter for the car and use the AC adapter that came with it. I used to do this a lot with the MK2.. not much of an issue since we have such great battery life now though.
UltimatePeter
I think we might as well cut the inverter out of the picture since then we would be basically going from DC to AC and then back to DC...
anode
When the car is running the voltage should be 13.8-14 VDC. lead acid batteries get charged with a higher voltage.

I used to install sound systems into cars and the difference in voltage can be amazing. Given that the Mark V is computer equipment I would strongly suggest something to regulate the voltage.
