RobotChild Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/...sp?product=1192 This camera seems pretty damn nice, has anyone seen one-up close? If so, is it really all that's it's cracked up to be? Quote
stingwray Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I'd recommend anything in the Canon range, always been very happy with their cameras. You don't tell use what sort of camera you want though, do you want it just for talking pictures or do you want to become more professional with in and want more features? Quote

The person that will be using it want's to become more proffesional. Quote
Jester Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I am fairly parital to my Nikon D50 very nice camera and takes excellent pictures. 8) You can pick one up for about $450US would leave you some extra cash to get batteries, lens, and other little goodies. Quote

stingwray Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 hey a canon ixus 400 or 500.a sony cyber shot p73 is also good I can really really recommend the Canon IXUS range, but RobotChild says its for someone that wants to become more professional so there not really practical. I don't know a great deal about professional photography but my guess is that you will want to be looking at a Digital SLR. As I said previous, i have always found Canon a good make, but this could be different for more high-end cameras. Quote
melodic Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 well my mum has a 350D...it is rather sexy..but vako would reconmend a D70 Quote
VaKo Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 See if you can grab a D70, cheaper than the newer D70s and 99% the same camera. Very good camera, as its a bottom of the range pro camera rather than a top of the range point&shoot. Quote
degoba Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 I can tell you what not to get. I have a kodak and I dislik it very much. I dropped it and now the batterys wont stay in. I know your not supposed to drop em, and it didnt fall that far, but still. cheap piece of plastic if ya ask me.. Quote
