H@L0_F00
In my DHTI class today, we went over EMI and how a signal can be picked up by another wire or device if not properly arranged. It got me thinking... Would a "wiretap" by EMI be possible/practical? If so, why is it not more commonly used? If not, why?
Keltha
Wiretapping using EMI is possible, but if you can get close enough to use EMI without spending hundreds in equipment, you could probably just splice the cable
PC646
It can be done with many data types for a price. We use to do it with cctv video fairly easily 10 years ago... Although the "tool" cost a shit load 10 years ago I doubt the price has dropped due to the niche market of taking over a cctv system without physically splitting or touching the line. H@L0_F00
I actually came to the conclusion that the EMI given off by a cable operating in full-duplex wouldn't be decipherable into actual traffic, would it? It would, essentially, just get all jumbled up into nonsense
