I got an e-mail today that made me laugh :)

Subject: New Driving Penalties

Due to the nature of the quality of driving in England the Department of

Transport has now devised a new scheme in order to identify poor drivers

and give good drivers the opportunity to recognise them whilst driving.

For this reason as from the middle of May 2006 those drivers who are

found to be driving badly which includes:

-overtaking in dangerous places

-hovering within one inch of the car in front

-stopping sharply

-speeding in residential areas

-pulling out without indication

-performing U turns inappropriately in busy high streets

-undertaking on motorways

-taking up more than one lane in multi lane roads

These drivers will be issued with flags, white with a red cross,

signifying their inability to drive properly. These flags must be

clipped to a door of the car and be visible to all other drivers and

pedestrians. Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving

skills will have to display a flag on each side of the car to indicate

their greater lack of skill and general lower intelligence mindset to

the general public.

Please circulate this to as many other motorists as you can so that

drivers and pedestrians will be aware of the meaning of these flags.

lmao, us English people have massive pride when it comes to the world cup.

Lots of people have england flags in there cars because as a nation we want our team to win the world cup.

Football is englands national sport, thats why so many people support it.

Its a nice joke and yes there it alot of people who cant drive correctly in the uk and tbh should be banned from driving.

Whats wrong with the flags? Its kinda nice to see everyone in the UK brought together for one thing at least. Today i was working with 2 african guys, a couple of pakistani guys and a polish girl, all of them supported England. They were all proud to be in england. And the chav's i was working with were fine as long as they were talking about the world cup. Everyone got on fine. The image of a UK football fan as a holigan is a bit suspect, considerding that during euro 2004, there were more people arrested at glastonbury than UK fans in europe... So whats wrong with the flags? I hate football myself, but i have to admit that it isn't the 80's now.

I don't

Well, yes, although I don't feel the English football team represents me at all a lot of people do. The reason I don't like the World Cup is it seems to create an increase in drunk people roaming the streets (as well as having no interest in football).

I also find all the flags around quite uncomfortable, although I suppose shouldn't. In general I find putting flags everywhere weird, especially since I only ever seem to see the England flag when the football team are playing - surely if you are going to fly the flag there is something more worthy of pride or support than a football team? For me the flags (England's and the Union Flag) have overtones of imperialism, invasion, dominance and subjugation. Also they should put the dragon from the Welsh flag on the front of the Union Flag, the Welsh flag is by far the coolest of the flags and it would be funny to see the dragon on top of the St. George's cross (the dragon dominating George).

well arent we childish tonight

I'm always childish, just sometimes I hide it better than other times.

its too hot i cant be arsed to argue

Yep, it's 32.9 °C in my bedroom.

Picture of a flag

Why does it say England on the flag? That's so stupid. I suppose it isn't as bad as those flags which has corporate logos on them.

yeh the flag saying england on isnt clever.

god i saw so many drunk chavs out today

It seems like such a pointless thing to do, especially since everyone knows it's an English flag, and the point in a flag is that of a traditional symbol, it's hardly traditional if you go writing all over it. You'd hardly want a print of the Mona Lisa like this would you?
