  1. hmm ive got two.

dont double post, just edit ur last.

there is no need to talk about being a n00b unless being a n00b (in the OP, ur not being a n00b)

oh shit better make that 3 suggestions.

Check out: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/Firewall-HOWTO Its rather good, and i have used it b4. Also it has all the config there so u can pretty much download what he tells u to then copy and past the configs and commands.

  2. compaq recovery CDs are the same as pretty much all packaged system recovery cds, pretty much it is an image of the compute as of the stat of purchace, so say if u need to reformat, u use the recovery CD and it will load the OS, Drivers, Special programs, some have AV's and Firewalls (mostly trials), and such.

Also about XP and WGA, when u buy a packaged system (laptops, or wholemade computers, no DIY involved) you dont actualy get a proper copy of Windows as in if you would go out and by Windows it self. What u get instead is a 1 Signitured licence, were your copy of XP is for one machien only, and thats the machien it was shipped with.

Therefore XP will not need to authenticate becuase it can only be loaded from the recovery CD, which can only work on systems exactly the same as yours, and then they would have recived there own copy of the recovery (unless off the back of a truck).

  3. okay, so what ive got set up is a logitech Wireless media center thing, were the data from my HDTV's AV out is connected to the transmiter of the Media center, then transmites to the reciver in my room, wich is then connected into a "Belkin USB Video Bus II".

The video is streaming through and working fine (qual is low but i only want it in a small window) though the audio does not stream, if i go into recording and press record then it records perfectly, though im wanting it for live streaming not recording, im rather sertant this is so that you dont get chat back when recording. This also occurs with a mic as well for the chat back reason.

so any one got any ideas on how to make a Audio Recording device, play through the speakers? (preferably software wise)

    Im using MS-XP SP2.

  4. T_T again im using a Novell based Suse mail server (GroupWise), though i have had experience with Kerio, and lotus. Ive found GW is great, but using the mail client there is no Mac installs. Though GW has a nice web interface.

Kerio was easly set up and configured, worked well for its porpus (internal mail server), and it also had a PDA client which i found rather nice ^_^, works on mac (parents have a thing for buying bloody i'books for there kids <_<). Though Kerio was replaced with GW with us when the failed to release an update patch for a know exploite (which was being exploited on our systems)

Lotus ive also found to be okay, though the install process took me quite a while and not much support was available. i didnt like it much but it was secure and works well, though we found that for a LAN it seemed there were better alterantives even in the open source range.

oh also Windows is what i use for my desktop lol, im not a hater, ive chosen effeciency over effectiveness.

Is'nt life great, when things just... work
  5. hmm looking at an old MB, im rather sure with sum carefuly soldering i could make one, though the cable would be a little harder to make, unless i dice up a couple of old network cards. as for the box, it wouldnt be that hard, DickSmith (radioshack) hobby box would do it.

though the materials i would need to make it are:

    2X PCI device male connection

    3X PCI Device female bay

    1X Hobby Box

though this really would just end up being an organised PCI extension bay, i cant think of a way of actualy add more PCI ports than what ur board physicaly has.

  6. hmm cant talk for US, but how many schools actualy use Windows Networks?

lol i can see problems with this thread though lol, arnt ppl gonna come and say, "ahh~ i tried to BF my skools admin password, but it keeps coming up with user does not exist", or "using proxies arnt working, what can i try next".

Though hopefuly ppl can goto that link and umm... not return...

  7. hmm i know a few (working in schools teachers do delete a lot of important data *cough* reports *cough*) the best that ive found is to use R-studio, though its not freeware and im thinking that the trial is limited on the size of the files that you can recover being pics should be fine. Its not linux, but it is a live CD, and if u get a full version its a great thing to have in ur collection ^_^

  8. for my servers im in for suse, this is only becuase most (if not all) of my work revolves around Novell, as for using Ubunto server, it doesnt really have anythink that the others dont all ready supply, its advantage is its Driver support, but for a server the only adv features ive used is pretty much raid, externaly back-up cubes (1tb) and a CSC RME UPS, which all support Suse. (mabye cos i got them from a novell supplier  )

  9. well say u wanted to back up ur original copys of ur DVD's and store them in a safe place inside ur house were ofcorse your backed up copies will remain for the rest of there illegitamet lives, i would suggest getting hold of a copy of DVD Shrink (freeware), and a copy of Slyfox AnyDVD (trail - *cough* easly fixed *cough*). Then with Nero, or another burning ROM, you are able to copy and DVD inculding ones that are duel layer (whats its name 9)

Also please note, that within australia it is rumored that laws have been passed preventing the copying of your own DVD's to store onsite. And that the original DVD must never be duplicated onto HDD, DVD, VCD, or VHS.

    - DVD Shrink: http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

    - Slyfox AnyDVD http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AnyDVD.htm

  10. lol u bring up two good points there, i never relised the age of this thread, now Moonlit's post about bring up old threads make sence lol.

though about Lucinda Dickey, umm shes like old enough to be my dad's grandmother :S, im not really into the whole WW1 pin-up chicks.

  11. hmm for ur specs i suggest using DSL, its lightweight has a full install and runs great of low than good systems.

    - Run light enough to power a 486DX with 16MB of Ram

    - Run fully in RAM with as little as 128MB (you will be amazed at how fast your computer can be!)

it pretty much matches ur Specs. i dont suggest it in the way of a great OS that has all the best featuresm but its great for newcomers to linux, has all the 'standard' package installs, and supports most linux programs, also comes with a nice driver collection so will work on most machiens.

  12. hmm Ninja > zombies > pirate... hmm i dunno

Ninja: Emilia Crow (Nine Deaths of the Ninja) =<

Zombies: Kate Ashfield (Shaun of the Dead) <

Pirate: Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean)

so for that i think the Pirates have it, well there portraid by hotter woman anyway.

Also im a samurai: ziyi zhang (house of the flying daggers), it also explains my weird sleeping patterns, i just say im meditating ^_^. also i have a thing for asians :P

  13. yay only 1 more year then ^_^. hmm back on subject;

you can try out KRyLack Password Recovery, it uses BF, and dic, but its Dic is weak, only 2kb :S so use the site provided by Vako, though the BF function works well (slowly as any BF). i found this on a Linux Live, ill look into diggin it up, though i know there is also a windows distribution out there. go go google~!

  14. hmm, if ur using Nero, any were up from 6 im thinking, u can burn movies onto DVD's as DVD, its a slower encoder than most, but most ppl have it, umm yeah there are a few out there but most a non freeware.

  15. just thinking out loud here, but does it really matter what the contents of the zipped (compressed for a better word) file is?

I know this site doesnt support the kiddie term of "hacking" and that warze = bad, but still really all the question'er is after is a nice BF Dictonary. As was provided.

Also im thinking Sparda is in his early 20's, Vako would be ruffly 25'ish, and umm moonlit, late 20's early 30's :S he seems to have life experience ^_^

... ive drank a way too much.
