  1. ah i see what you mean. all my methods work only for linux ISO's. so i ended up burning it to a cd, then plugging in an external cd drive to the netbook and booting off that. i was on windows only for a night so far an i cant stand it. tomorrow the two linux partitions go back on, an windows only gets loaded if its a must.

  2. if your using ubuntu:

In the main menu, go to System > Administration and open 'Startup Disk Creator'

Click 'Other' to choose the downloaded ISO file

Select the file and click 'Open'

Select the USB stick in the bottom box and click 'Make Startup Disk'

That's it! When the process completes, you'll be ready to restart your computer and begin installing

  3. I just got my link to download App Inventor -- I actually hate Eclipse! Anyone got feedback on App Inventor before I install? I'll be doing that tomorrow on my Ubuntu box.

when did you apply for it? i applied once when it first came out, an i just applied again a week ago.

  4. I'm buying it too, but the camera controls look a little buggy

might not have been a final version they were demoing.

honestly i dont really think its gonna be the most epic game ever. but im a big fan of tron, so to me, being able to throw light disks at other programs, an ride the light cycles (with good graphics) is going to be like a dream come true. i just hope you can drive the tanks in the game ie: space paranoids. i heard in an interview that certain parts in the story you will enter a "game" and be connected to play online. once the match is over you return to the story. which is pretty cool making it seem more like the movie, having to play other people.

  5. lol that just sounds tooooo easy ...

but ill give it a try :D

that how i put ubuntu on my netbook. an thats how i upgraded to 10.10 on my desktop too. no point in wasting a CD. its a good way to test a live CD of other linux distros.

  6. you can boot off any flash drive. you just burn the ISO to the flash drive an plug it in an start 'er up. hit what ever key you need to get to the boot loader, tab, esc, F2, what ever. pick the flash drive an it will run the install.

  7. hehe. man this phone is the shit. once rooted, let's you do so much more. makes owning a phone & getting over charged for data almost worth it.

lol. a few weeks ago, i called up verizon to see if i had a free upgrade. so i went to the store, played with the droid x model, fell in love, then went to the counter. told him what i wanted to do. he rang every thing up an said ok your total is $199. or something like that. im like huh? he say i get the phone for $199 with a 2 year contract added on. an i said, i have a free upgrade. (i have had free upgrades in the past). he said no you just became eligable for the $199 upgrade. otherwise you would have to pay $700 for the phone....i turned around an walked out sad.

so i shall stick with my droid eris untill i some how manage to save $199.

  8. there are android apps that let you spoof sms and calls. you could also send sms from a gmail account. an it shows up as a 5 digit number or something like that, no reveling the email. it was either gmail or yahoo i dont remember.

  9. Its cool, but not something I would want. Dont really like touch screens, they seem to fail more often than a reg keyboard or an actual mouse does.

are you referring to touch screens on computers? cause i only have experience with touch screens on phones, and iv never had a problem.

  10. The good think I like about this design, is that if you are someone like me always eating in front of the computer, you will get bits of food or crumbs falling on the keyboard. Whereas with that laptop, you can wipe it off clean, leaving no residue of food whatsoever.

Hope they could design a normal keyboard like that.

well there are keyboard that are like mats. crumbs wouldnt be able to get into those. i think sony sells overlay mats for there keyboards in different colors. its kinda like a new and improved version of those annoying clear covers that used to be on old keyboards in offices an such back in the day.

  11. Never owned an Iphone before, I prefer owning a Nokia or Android.

im not going to get one, but i must say those new nokia's are catching my interest. you know what iv allways wanted...the nokia from the matrix. when that movie came out i wanted that phone sooooo bad. i was like "omgz! it automatically slides down!!!
