  1. Just has to format and reinstall my editing box which totally borked when the hakhouse flooded. I think I lost one of my 500gigers. I can see it in Ubuntu but in Windows disk management it shows the drive as failed to init. If I had the money to (so poor right now with the soggy house) I'd replace my four 500gigers with two 1ter drives.
  2. I know what you mean about the breadcrumbs. After making a post using the fast reply box at the bottom by habit I scroll all the way back up just to click the breadcrumb link back to the board I'm reading. It turns out there is actually a drop-down that lets you just to any board right under and the right of the fast-reply box. By default it has the current board selected to simply clicking go will return you to the parent board. Cheers!
  3. The reason you want to use blat or gmail for that matter is to keep some level of anonymity. I guess FTP would work just as fine as email but I wouldn't have the hacksaw login to an FTP server that could be easily tracked back to me.
  4. I always read your nick as StableFox for some reason I get the idea that you're like normally an unstable individual who takes valium daily or something ;)

  5. I've had decent experience with dell mainly in a corporate environment. A lot of that is due to their amazing support if you're willing to pay for it. I had an apple briefly and loved the build quality. My asus eee PC is the most awesome notebook I've ever owned but is nowhere near as "solid" as a macbook pro.
  6. XP ftw. Srsly what does Vista offer rly? lol (I pwn the board, I can get away with a response like the above)
  7. thx glad you guys like hit me up if you find any bugs lust your technosluts!
  8. @Brayn, I believe there is an Aussie ISP that redistributes the episodes. Anyone have that URL so Brayn can get 'em without passing bits across the pond?
  9. White Hat use: Switchblade payload that echo "Your system has been compromised. No data was stolen. You have not been infected. This note describes the vulnerability and possible workarounds. blah blah blah" >> "%userprofile%Start MenuStartupNotification.txt" Back in the day while wardriving we'd look for shared printers and print out a little notice about how to enable WEP (WPA wasn't out yet).
  10. I run Windows primarily for editing and gaming at home so I tend to do the other little stuff on that OS as well for convenience. I administrate several Windows servers for work and play with BackTrack and Ubuntu for fun. Every now and then I'll hop on one of Matt or Paul's Apple laptops but aside from that I don't own my own mac. I guess you could call me a hacker but really I'm just a geek that tinkers with computers and stuff. More recently been tinkering with cameras and the like. So in short: Mainly Windows with some Linux. I'm not a hacker but I play one on TV.
  11. Agreed. What game? Community decision as to keep it fair and neutral.
  12. Who says 200GB is reasonable? If I pay for 6Mbps I should be able to download 63.28 GB per day. At that rate I'd have gone over my limit on the 4th day! Who wants to pay for a month of Internet access and get only 4 days of downloading? TB hard drives are cheap these days and if I want to spend the next 30 days downloading at 6Mbps to fill both these drives I should be allowed to. /devils advocate
  13. Yeah I know. And to think I was just in that dir the other day. Could have chmod'd it but what the hell, we're moving to IPB this week anyway.
  14. I've had the same avatar for 3 years now. I wonder if anyone who know who the hell I am if I changed it one day.
  15. Dude I think I get spam like that sometimes. Nah but good stuff got a laugh outa me.
  16. No more restrictions, Gonzor is moderating! woohoo
  17. Good stuff. I swear I heard about a charter bus company recently who's core principal was failure.
  18. You can have the sketches back. And if you don't watch it we might just end up doing an all sketches 3x10 to make up for the lack throughout the season. That'll really make the hardcore hacker types go nuts. hehe (Seriously though I'm working on a wifi hack and if I can get these damn kernel modules straight it will have some gray hat too)
  19. Yeah, at a certain point the live show took a strange turn and went from what was a constructive dialog into a defensive argument and I apologize for that. It was about the point where Wess showed up unexpectedly to defend USB hacks that I pretty much lost control of the show, hit the bottle hard, and I think Matt and Chris pretty much gave up. Hell even Paul left the switch board to go for a smoke break. I promise it wasn't meant to be like that but again, I lost control and any good intentions had pretty much gone out the window at that point. People keep asking me about certain aspects of it and I really don't remember. Someone mentioned that TestMAD and Pronobozo were on. Seriously after about the first hour, hour and a half it's all a blank. I rewatched the ending the next morning (hangover land) just to see how it ended I think I was about to fall out of my bar stool when Paul cut. I was half tempted to remove the video from ustream considering how embarrassing it was but the show was for the hardcore 1% and you guys can forgive me for losing control of the show and getting shitfaced. Oh yeah, and to your other point, yes it was helpful in that we're now absolutely aware of all of the issues everyone has raised and we're working hard on making the show as badass as it possibly can be. Cheers!
  20. Thanks. I'm glad I did all that analysis as your commentary was truly thought provoking. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. No but seriously does anyone have other insight?
  21. The conversation didn't really go as I had expected. I don't know where the negative aspect came into play because we intended to solicit constructive criticism and have a kind of round table kicking around ideas of what might make the show better. It was about the time Wess showed up and we started talking about USB hacks that we went from constructive to defensive. At least one of us did. I took the opportunity to get wasted, Matt went to bed and Chris basically gave up on trying to moderate. Still I think the night was constructive as (aside from a hangover) I woke up with more ideas of how to get the show back on track. EDIT: BTW I <3 you guys too and don't feel bad about being an asshat you weren't and someone needed to be the spokesperson for this stuff. I really appreciate everyone's involvement. I hope you guys know we're trying really hard to make this show that you've become invested in a lot better.

I'd also say the depth of material has stayed about the same as well. The omission of sketches and plot seem to play a huge role in the personality and character departments. This episode of season 3 didn't have a lot of extras, merely the required segments and glue bits (trivia, wrap up) to make an episode. The lack of things like cold opens, tips, question and answer segments, and little "wtf" moments like the "hack responsibly" non sequitur seem to hinder the episode's character and personality as well. These things cannot be quantified in charts or graphs yet as far as I see they seem to be the biggest missing ingredient from season 3. What do you think?
