I don't think Darren is the kind of guy that would let a thread like this go unnoticed. I agree that he loves hak5 and if I was him I would want as much criticism as possible. If I thought that no one would care about my rants or anyone else I would have never started this thread. I think the episode were Wess comes back would be my favorite one of my life. Not gonna lie he was a big part of the show and I skipped around the episodes to watch his segments first then watched the entire thing. (I think I have a man crush =\ ) I loved the arcade mods. I plan on building one of my own soon. I want to build a couple and make an epic game room. Maby we should start a thread where we can throw all of our ideas in so its community driven too and the host arn't stuck with coming up with ideas. Maby make an submission page where we can drop out ideas in. I would have a ton that I would submit every now and then. That way we would see what everyone wants and hit a couple ideas every week. Just a thought tho.

if the machines weren't locked why don't you just take all the bottles that were put in there and take them out and put them back in. Keep doing that for a couple times.

Haha h3%5kr3w. I like alot of your ideas. It would be really cool to see more people involved. Another thing i just thought of is in the hacking sense of things. Pretty much with the vmware segments, it would be cool to see how to install vmware esxi on an ide instead of a sata. I know its possible I just havn't done it myself. Wouldn't that kinda be a hack?

I have taken into account that they have to release weekly, they do have real lives aside from the show, and it is hard to find material to film, edit, and throw up on the site all in one week. And I was worried about the flaming cause I was pretty much saying hak5 has turned for the worst and in the past when I have done that, that is what happened.

Ok I am going out more than i normally would. But most of everyone here knows me or have seen me around (so I think) so I think I have room for my opinion. I have been around since season 1. When haxor flakes were cool :)! But I think hak5 has gone down hill. I miss the times when i actually looked forward to a release. What happened to all of the mods and builds? The underwater cam? Music through a laser? I mean anymore it seems (to me) that hak5 has turned into a tutorial or a walk through place. I'm not sure if that makes sense to you or not. Sure the vmware is cool and everything but it is hak5. Where is the haks? I'm not talking about the pwning the school or something. Yes I know you have went over the wpa and jasager. It almost seems like hak5 has gone cooperate in a way. I love hak5. Im always on Irc and checking up on the forums. I have watched every episode except for the one just released. I even follow alot of people on twitter just to know what is going on. So please don't think I am saying hak5 sucks. Its more constructive criticism. I know I am going to get flamed really bad for this but it was bothering me to the point I had to say something. Maby I am just getting bored with the episodes and stay for the people that I have kinda grown up close to. I have made many friends here at hak5. I remembered when I tryed taking Darren out on bbs on red dragon. (I think thats what it was called) I just miss all the interesting stuff hak5 had. It makes me miss all the old times. I don't even really know what it was that I am missing. Well Please don't flame and tell me what you think also. (besides that I am stupid or anything along those lines.) Is there anything you notice or is there anyone else feeling the same way I do. I noticed alot of people like hak5 better this way. I also hope no one thinks different of me for sharing my feelings about this.

Since the past week or two i have been messing with media centers and seeing what i can do with different operating systems, one thing i thought would be cool would be mount a computer in a wall, and have a projector or a tv hooked up somewhere else in the room. Id have to draw a diagram or something to show what i mean. Hmm think ill get on that now and then explain more after...... will edit later.

I have forums set up using Invision power board. It seems to be hit with tons of spam every hour. Is there a way that will minimize the amount of spam posted. I am already using email validation and captchas but it seems as though there are still ones getting through and posting. And ideas or known ways of stopping spam using Invision Power Board?

Tryed that. I think my cat that sleeps on my keyboard knew more than them. They want me to take the router to them and let them redo it. I have found my wireless key (was the same as the first router) but the web console password is not the same. So I would still love to get that in order to port forward and everything.

ok in my defense, I have no job or money income. There is no get another card. lol. I just have these two with the exception of a couple other crap cards.

acually I take that back. Cod5 is not running that great on the ati. Im going to try the BFG (Nvidia) Tomarrow.

im doing alot of gaming on both actually. Call of duty 5 is running perfectly on the ati. Just installed it tho so im not sure about the BFG card. I know call of duty 4 worked perfectly on that one.

Ok I havn't been all that great with choosing video cards. All I look at is the memory of the card and ports it has but i have two cards that have 256mb memory, and both vgi, dvi, and svideo on them. But if you had to pick between the two, which one would be better for gaming? I know there are better ones but if you only had the choice between these two, which one would you pick? Nvidia geforce 6200a ATI Radeon x1300

I do have physical access and what bruteforcer does not use a dictionary file? One that goes through every possible key combination symbols and all?

Sorry but you are wrong. I do need a lan ip address. Jut not from my router. Our antenna has an ip address and its static. When I plug into it my device has to know where the antenna is in a way. (its ip address.) Im going to try spardas solution. Im going to add another nic card to our desktop and run the router through one and have the other line from the antenna going into the other nic. Hopefully it works.

I don't think I explained the situation right. The router has information stored inside it to connect to our antenna. If I were to reset it I would lose that information then I wouldn't be able to connect. It would be as useless as the netgear router that im trying to install. The cat5 cable that runs from our antenna goes into the wan port. And the router has to have a static ip address put into it so that it will connect to the antenna right. If it doesn't have that then it won't connect or even aquire an ip address. For example. If i were to hook that cable into our desktop our desktop won't aquire an ip address. It requires to be set up with a static ip address OF the antenna to connect. Hope that helped. lol

Ok here is my issue. We Just got wireless internet. I hate it but its better than the dial up we have. The wireless router the guy installed, he forgot the router password and wifi key. (dumbass) So at the moment im plugged directly into the router. I tried installing a netgear router. But it won't connect to the antenna because the antenna doesn't have dhcp. It has a static Ip address that has to be entered into the router. We don't know that nor will pc-source (wireless provider) give that out. They want us to come out to them a town over and let them do it. So I was going to see if I can figure out what i need first. This is how my network is set up: Antenna---->wireless trendnet router -----> me I was thinking of a couple solutions. Packet sniff the information between the antenna and the router and possibly recover any username and ip addresses needed. so the set up would look like this. Antenna-->pc with wireshark--->router--->me But i was thinking there is a problem with that way.... The pc with wireshark wouldn't aquire an ip address and i don't think that would work. It would have two nic cards and have them bridged then capture all the data on the first nic. Can someone either help me or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I'm making a sign up page that needs a user to select what game version they are using. At the moment they check the box if they are using expansion pack. If they don't select anything it would make there account the normal game. The values would equal the following: Regular = 0 Burning Crusades = 8 Wotlk = 24 If they don't want the burning crusades or wotlk it automaticly selects the regular. But...... never mind. I have figured it out. It had "make user change password on next logon" checked. Some reason it wouldn't work with that checked.

My friend has a server setup with windows server 2008. I am using vista to connect. I have windows server 2008 at my house and i connect just fine. But when i try to connect to this server (my friends) i get an error an authentication error has ocurred. (code: 0x80090304) But i know all of my information is right because when I try using the wrong info it just says the information is wrong. When I know its right i get that error. Any ideas? I have googled it but nothing came up.

I have my own code. I just need some code that will update to the latest patch. And yes its for a private server.
