  1. When i was on a jail broken 2.x firmware, i installed 3Proxy from the Cydia repos along with Mobile Terminal. It was as simple as setting up and connecting your laptop + iphone into an adhoc network and launching Proxy from terminal. Sure this isn't the wired way you speak of, but one of many, many ways to accomplish this. You will be able to jailbreak the 3.0 software by tomorrow btw (6/19/2009) Tethering is only allowed by certain mobile providers. If you're on AT&T, you're fucked.

    WPA gen

Really wish my server had some nvidia cards in it :( I guess i could try this on my old gaming rig i built a couple years ago, see if it can run faster than my monster server :) The irony is, right after i learn how to pen test wireless, Hak5 seems to do a segment on it. Would of saved me a LOT of reading if i just waiting on them to release an episode about it. None the less, i got the job done on my own :) Great info guys, thanks for sharing.
  3. When a cable modem (maybe DSL also, im not sure) is booted up. It contacts the ISP's TFTP server to download its image. This pre-made image has everything already put into it (speed caps, dns servers, dhcp servers, time servers, filters, ect). There are some tricks to "sniff" the TFTP image so you can download it yourself, decrypt it, edit it to have some ungodly speeds and host it on your OWN TFTP server. So when the modem is powered on, it's grabbing its new uncapped image from your TFTP server instead of the ISP's. This of course is highly illegal and 9 times out of 10 will get your service banned (they do reserve the right to refuse service). Ask me how i know....... -____-

    Furk.net

Heard about it from TF as well, im subbed to their RSS feed. In their article they said they topped out @ 20mbps on the free account, i've only topped out at 1.1 so far

    Furk.net

Furk.net is like torrents meet rapidshare. Not only can you host files on their servers permanently (if its not touched in 30 days it gets deleted) but you can also search + download files at break neck speeds. No more leaving your torrent app running for days on end! I don't know how this will benefit the torrent scene, but it sure is badass!

    NETGEAR WPN511

Yes. Googled your laptop specs, seems like you have a PCMCIA express slot as well as a PC type II card slot. This card should fit into the type II PCMCIA card slot just fine. Is your google-fu as bad as your tech-fu? Of course it will work in windows, user friendly linux distros have come a long way in wireless support, so i would have to say yes on both.

    SSH Tunneling

I know this is over 3g and to the best of my knowledge cannot be eavesdropped on, but SHA1 authentication is incredibly easy to crack. Just a heads up if you plan on connecting to this machine over a wireless network!

    Media Setup

We did this with a flat panel plasma at my work. Our media center is located deep in our server room and the panel is in a cubical area in the main work place. We ran a HDMI to ethernet box to deliver video and audio over a simple cat6 cable (WAY easier to wire) as well as a IR over ethernet converter box that solved our IR reach issues. Keep in mind that there is a limit on how long the ethernet cable is! Read the specs about the adapter, hopefully will save you a troubleshooting headache that we ran into. Good Luck!
  9. There was some site that would give you a single domain SSL cert for free.. signed and everything, cant find it at the moment tho... Wonder if that would do any good?
  10. I'm in the midst of starting up a rouge setup and a sluggish performance on the victims end did cross my mind. Would love to see some input on this topic!
  11. If you're on a linux box (the only way to be) then you can use hydra, xhydra to brute the login with a password list. There are a couple of others that will accomplish the same task and have other options that hydra doesn't do (medusa for instance) but hydra is pretty straight forward for this task. Good luck!
  12. Not that im aware of. Don't you think if my Linksys supported repeating i wouldn't have had to flash it to DD-WRT? <_< Plus im completely happy with all the added features and stability that the DD-WRT firmware gave me. Looking back at the original firmware makes it seem so archaic.
  13. You mean rejoined it? Couldn't you have just reset the SAM on the computer account in AD?
  14. They must have just started the DistrRTgen project because i didn't see it on their page before. Good find!
  15. The point of torrentflux is to have a torrent interface that you can access from anywhere. From your LAN, from your WAN and even from your iPhone (they have a kickass iphone theme for iphone support). You can schedule it when you want it to start/stop or when you want it to start throttling the DL/UL speeds. You can also setup multiple user accounts so you can share your fibre connection with some buddies :) After the torrent is done, they can download the finished torrent directly from the torrent flux interface, its pretty slick :f34r: It does not need a client to connect, it's all managed via the web front end interface (see quoted reply below) Did you confuse torrentflux with museeqd that does require a client to connect to? If you have any questions or need help with anything, feel free to drop by our IRC chat @ http://www.omgirc.com/chat.php Torreflux is the same! sudo apt-get install torrentflux Then browse to http://host/torrentflux Totally runs headless (thats why its great for servers) ;) I bought the boys over at OMGIRC a platinum giganews account with SSL support, so its safe to say that our newsgroups usage has gone up
  16. I couldn't recommend Torrentflux any more than i already have. I don't know if you use newsgroups at all, but if you do, check out SABnzbd. It's the same concept of a web interface with everything working in the background (like torrentflux) and it handles everything for you (par repair, unrar and even clean up of files that are no longer needed). On top of those, i run museeqd to download music from the soulseek servers (p2p). You use a client app (museek+) to connect to your daemon and queue up all your downloads. Works wonderfully. This trifecta on my linux server makes me very VERY happy.
  17. Yeah the rev3 shows are all video. I watch them on my 32gb iPod Touch or on my 16gb iPhone 3G on weekly basis. Leo has good audo podcasts, but they're not the pen test / h4x type you're looking for. I say just take a stab at the "tech" podcasts listed in itunes :)
  18. I was planning on making documented videos on cracking WPA and WEP. If you want to team up, hop onto OMGIRC and give me a shout. I go under Ish_nitti or digerati. I'm kind of tired of having to walk people through the steps of getting everything setup, patching drivers and finding legit access points to exploit. I would love to do a one-stop-shop video that i can point to whenever i'm asked to teach someone.
  19. I would LOVE a segment on this topic! Please hak5 PLEASE! :(
  20. Recorded a short video of the Guile Handcuffs on my original Street Fighter 2 Arcade Cabinet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13gEXHbQQv4 Enjoy :)
  21. Those are great videos, but they don't really explain much since there isnt any audio. I was toying with the idea of having a wireless cracking workshop dealy on our IRC network. I've already helped a couple newbs begin their quest into wireless security. I also wanted to film a presentation-esk type thing in my conference room here at the office on some off the wall topics. We'll see what comes of it. Kudos for taking the time to do those videos tho! Good job!
  22. F'ing brilliant sir. Count me in.

  24. <3 my new ASUS eeePC 900 netbook I've never had airmon spawn another interface when i put the card into monitor mode before. Then again, i too, was using USB dongles to get the job done. I can do without backtrak tho, just a simple debian install and throwing the packages i need onto it. ;)
