  1. Hes talking about the pay-for rainbow tables and he wants to download them for free. Just pay the damn money........its worth it for the fact it can give you root on any unencrypted hard drive.
  2. I want to go into pen testing but im studying a CCNA and a MCSE at the moment so I might end up in infrastructure support :( The programming would be used to: 1. Design custom network applications but for my own personal use. 2. Give me a better understanding of whats happening at the applications level (and yes destroy some things aswell). But thankyou very much for your suggestions as this has certainly given me a place to start :)
  3. You know of any good books, courses or websites on where to learn?
  4. Can you compile these into .exe files with the the free Microsoft IDE or do I have to buy that functionality with the full product.
  5. Malteago would be better for the profiling but tbh your better off contacting her ISP and having them investigate. Chances are that screename has been registered legitimately and it would have been done so using his address. If you get the police involved and have them escalate this I should imagine the response would be very fast indeed.
  6. Right, I am interested in learning some programming and I have decided to try to learn a language. I thought JavaScript was my best bet for learning the basics. Can anybody give me some feedback on this and if its the right place to start.
  7. As the man said above www.fonerahack.com is all you need. Just follow the guide and you will get it downgraded.
  8. IP bans usually end up blocking dhcp leased addresses from the ISP - very sloppy and will not stop someone determined.
  9. Seriously you really need to get out more and work on your people skills.........
  10. If your going to put this where I think your going to put this..........DONT xD Ill be posting a uk version of this guide sourced from maplin not radioshack as ive checked and they dont export.
  11. Tell me about it.........I was eating a bacon roll when i saw all that :(
  12. Sorry my bad its working - too much pot and not enough sleep. Forgot to enable Karma. What about being more forceful and putting in a custom hosts file? You give them a 404 page but it rewrites all the paths to something really nasty on the public internet. You could even combine this with a custom script to boot people off your Jasager so they can connect back up to their regular AP.
  13. Ive just noticed my jasager isnt doing what its supposed to do either - seems like the jasager.ipk isnt installing correctly and this may be the problem, Did you do a tar install for it?
  14. What I really wanted was a java based chat applet so I could talk to who connects - although im still working out how to actually get that working. I like the idea of scaring the shit out of people though as most people listen to music while working. Incidently im really interested in how your setup above works. Im puzzled how you got your dns to resolve all web pages to karma. This would probably be an ideal topic for a new guide (especially for people like me who are windows centric and still learning about Linux).
  15. Its cool Digi i managed to work out what Darren did as im still learning to use Bash. I went to http://192.168.1.1/webif.html. So Apache would be your choice of poison for a webserver? I did also read the original Karma package did have built in functionality for display of webpages...
  16. Unfortunately Darrens implementation takes away the functionality of webif's config page as it maps the jasager setup page to it - 192.168.1.1. So how would I execute webif page?
  17. The documentation on OpenWrt seems to be a little sparse on how to setup both DNS + DHCP services and it would be nice to know where to configure these options ie. address ranges for connected clients. If it would be better to run DNS on a laptop attached to the jasager could someone point me to a package. I think its BIND but im not really sure about Linux stuff. How is isolating the web interface from attached wifi clients setup using iptables?
  18. I am sorry but if you dont want to hear opinions then dont ask for them...your bored because your not trying anything new or that people havnt seen about a billion times before. Both of the game modes you have decided to "ignore" are both highly modifiable and easy to pick up - yes they are hard to master but thats what keeps people playing. If other members in the community feel like making a more heavily modified server then please contact me and we can start a project, but I am not wasting anymore of my time on this post. Epic fail +1.
  19. Darren you might also want to put in that some integrated NIC drivers are not compatible with EasyFlash and it would be better to use a PCI version - found out what was wrong today and now my Jasager is up and working. Can anyone else confirm this? I have also noticed the error when installing Jasager from package that Darren had in his guide. Im showing OpenWrt as an access point but even though its enabled (jasager on) its not autoconnecting clients. Did everyone install it from the tar?
  20. Not a problem :) Im in the UK but we are not charged for bandwidth either. It just all about the connection, upload speed and the mod your running.
  21. Please review yours facts before bitching..... http://www.overclock.net/faqs/23361-opinio...s-s-server.html You would be able to run 14 players on a non RAM/CPU intensive setup (basically that means vanilla CS:S). How many 14 player servers were ever seriously played. I dont know anything about cspsp but im guessing they may have optimised that alot to run alot faster as CS:S is a total pig for RAM. I ran a 42 player ZombieMod server on the core system above. The seperate map server I had swallowed 50GB worth of downloads per month because it got to be a 24/7 server (filled with players always) and listed in the top 100. Probably not if your on a LAN.........and we were talking about scrds servers. If you dont believe me take out a hosting package and try it. A decent one will start you off at about $1400 (about £700) for a 12 month contract. Between configration and budget worries as well as keeping the thing ticking its actually alot harder than it looks.
  22. Zombie Panic never really got going as a mod which is a shame :( I was a really big fan of gungame but always found it hard to get into - to be good at it would require a lot of skill - its brilliant if you combine it with deathmatch. Anybody like surf here?
  23. Heh.....not everyone can afford the large hosting and bandwidth costs associated with a game server unless your with a very understanding ISP or in America. It would be alot more feasable if a clan were to be formed and have some kind of donations system put in place. Then you could have multiple servers off a single box (a decent Core2Duo rig will host two 40 man servers comfortably).
  24. Right - now I've established theres something wrong with my flashing of the fon. Any ideas about why the flash just seems to hang and not complete successfully?
  25. Right I am still getting "unable to connect" even though im sure the flashing process has completed. After I do the flash and its succesful should Freifunk come back with done or finished or something? I've waited a few hours for flashing to complete. When I power cycle (to re-attempt connection) the WLAN is not coming up. Ive tried virtually every timeing variation I can think of. What is the exact window for telnet access?
