Oh okay cool, i've had cain and abel before but not found much use for it, is there anything/anywhere i can read or watch a video on examples of when and how to use this?

I dont really understand rainbow tables, i've been trying to figure what they are for a while but honestly all i can seem to find out is that they're used to help crack passwords and hashes, does anyone have a nice website or video that could explain in more depth for someone like me that is not in the know? you want fries with that? Just go on the ebay and find some little sheddy laptop that is old and crap but still works buy yourself a decent wifi card and charge up the battery and when full, just take it out, not the waste it.

Well i downloaded backtrack 3 final, ran it on my laptop, no problem. when i put it in my PC however i keep getting this message Trying to autoconfigure Xwindow System, please wait this has been on for atleast half a hour and on my laptop the setup was done within 5 mins. i dont understand

Ive just tried this on both my laptop and my computer, i've downloaded the ISO but when it comes to burning its not working, Nero Burning ROM doesn't respond and neither does any other, ha anyone else got this? What programs do you guys use to burn .ISO files.

Is there anyway to test if your Network card is compatible? apart from trying it?
