  1. Good day experts,. I am testing a WiFi Adapter that i bought from the HakShop on Kali VMware for my pentesting class. I have noticed the adapter works fine with Windows 10 as i am able to view wireless networks and connect to them. In my Kali VM i am able to add the USB adapter fine unfortunately, it does not discover any available networks. Any suggestions that can cause this. Thanks
  2. I am running VMware Fusion on a Mac with a Windows 7 guest. My goal is to run the Invoke-Mimikatz payload for credential pilfering, which involves sending WIN-R (GUI R) to the Windows OS. However, because Windows 7 is running as a guest VM, the Windows OS doesn't actually see the ducky connect as a USB keyboard. The ducky connects to the host OS (Mac OSX) instead. When the script sends a 'GUI R', this doesn't seem to get passed to the guest VM (Windows), even if the focus is on the VM at the time. However, if I write a basic script that simply sends a 'STRING Hello World' and 'ENTER', then I see these characters appear, if I first open notepad to give it something to type into. Has anyone tried something like this before, or does anyone have an idea how to go about addressing this?
  3. Hi all, Taking advantage of all these cheap E5 2670 CPU's floating around (someone said that market has been flooded because of facebook decommissioning a data centre worth of boxes in order to upgrade?) Building a dual CPU box with a couple of these chips for about £800 (32 cores @ 2.4 GHz FTW!!!) and 32GB of RAM with room for a memory upgrade. Desired end state is to have a VM server for setting up labs. Can anyone recommend a free / cheap hypervisor with some form of management interface that would allow me to control vm creation, modification, snapshots, etc? Many thanks all!
  4. Hey guys. I was wondering how to go about setting up a JAVA-BASED honeypot in VMware, using the network architecture below as an example. I 'm specific about the honeypot being java-based because I'd like to be able to generate statistical reports in a java console. If this project has been worked on before, I'd appreciate a re-direct or two, and I'd also like to know your recommendations on the types of operating systems suggested for each of the systems in the network (IDS, client/webserver, honeypot, firewall). Thanks.
  5. in vmware preferences, update vmware tools. also in the vmware preferences, add USB option to the list. next while you are in a vm of your kali backtrack install, install vmware tools by issuing these commands into a terminal: apt-get update apt-get install open-vm-tools i think that should work for everyone.
  6. I have tried few times to make shared folder in VMware/BackTrack but cannot make - mnt/hgfs folder in empty (in VMware shared folder in enabled and I have file inside it). VMware tools is installed. In Terminal: lsmod | grep vm -> vmw_balloon 12593 0 Is there foolproof tutorial to make shared folder in BackTrack? I use VMware 7 and BackTrack 5 R3.
  7. Last night I started putting together a module that allows you control virtual machines from the pineapple control center. Let me know if this is something that interests anyone. http://youtu.be/7QQEI1Univ0?hd=1
