Bitbot17 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 can the YARD stick one also do this? or in the future? if yes is there a youtube video for it? i am not familiar with the YARD stick so that is why i ask http://www.wi-fi.org/news-events/newsroom/wi-fi-alliance-introduces-low-power-long-range-wi-fi-halow sorry if i have post it in the wrong part of the forum Quote
cooper Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 From the official YARD stick one page: official operating frequencies: 300-348 MHz, 391-464 MHz, and 782-928 MHzunofficial operating frequencies: 281-361 MHz, 378-481 MHz, and 749-962 MHz From your page: Wi-Fi HaLow extends Wi-Fi into the 900 MHz band Based on that I think the answer is "probably". It depends on the modulation and other things they intend to employ with this HiLow thing, but what you're looking at right now is a press release for something they're working on but don't quite seem to have made anything for just yet. So you can get a YARD stick one and hope for the best, or wait for actual products to arrive, then see if people who already possess a YSO got it to work and if that makes you happy, get one. Quote
