vailixi
I need a Linux that will do one thing and one thing only. Surf the internet. What is a good minimal LInux?

vailixi
Have you tried chromium os? Just for a minute. There's a terminal I'm not familiar with at all.
cooper
I've given myself a (used) Samsung Chromebook (the ARM one you can install Linux on) to play with and have something a tad more portable than my 6-pound HP Zbook. It's decent but... well... meh. Having Linux on there increases its versatility 10-fold if not more. For an application like this it might make sense though. DakotaStorm
You can try peppermint, I ran it successfully for a few years on my old acer aspire one with only a Gigabyte of RAM.
i8igmac
I can agree with xfce... if what your asking for is a lightweight operating system... my labtop from ten years ago performs like a champ when running a lightweight windows manager like xfce... cooper
My problem with XFCE is that I don't think it's pretty enough. I'm using fluxbox everywhere which is still decidedly minimal yet rather less caustic to the eye.
