edwingeorge747 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Can anyone suggest the best portable battery that can be used along with wifi pineapple. And if possible along with link from amazon. Quote
Sebkinne Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hi edwingeorge747, While I can't recommend a battery, make sure that whatever you get has the one of the following stats: 5V - 2A 9V - 1.5A 12V - 1A Only ever provide power over the barrel port on the WiFi Pineapple MKV. You may need to purchase a USB to barrel cable, if you decide to go with a 5V battery (comes in handy if you want to power other gear such as phones, tablets, etc). Best Regards, Sebkinne Quote
edwingeorge747 Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Thanks Sebkinne , I was planning to buy this battery http://www.amazon.com/EasyAcc-10000mAh-Brilliant-External-Smartphone/dp/B00H9BEC8E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1428699880&sr=8-3&keywords=portable+battery Is this fine? So you are telling pineapple cannot be powered using a usb .So i have to buy a usb to barrel cable along with battery right? What should be the size of a Barrel jack.. Quote
Xcellerator Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I use an Anker Astro E4 which spits out 13000 mAh. It has two usb ports on it for 1A and 2A both at 5V. So use the 2A one (10W). Also a 5mm DC barrel to USB lead. It easily powers the Pineapple for at least 15-20 hours on a full charge. Quote
Sebkinne Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Some USB battery packs negotiate power. This means some will actually only supply 0.5/1A vs the full 2A. Best Regards,Sebkinne Quote
Xcellerator Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 A good thing to check for when you're buying a battery is whether they support the iPad (not the minis, the old ones with the fat wall charger). They need 10W to charge so anything that supports them should be good. Quote

edwingeorge747 Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 My basic idea of buying a battery for wifi pineapple is to mount it on a drone and use it for wireless sniffing. So thats why i am looking for light weight battery which can used in DJI Phantom Drone Quote
