LukeB
Hi everyone, I am thinking of getting a WiFi Pineapple mark iv, my only thought now is whether I will regret it due to the mark V being released in the near future. Is it worth waiting, or would I be waiting for something which will never come? Thanks for your time -Luke
zz2Fac3zz
I highly doubt that the Pineapples hardware is going to upgrade anytime soon. Perhaps a better battery/flashdrive pakage on Aug 1st but thats just my guess. I would say get a Mark 4 they are so cheap anyhow.
LukeB
It's just with the shipping fees to get it sent to the UK I don't want to get it and then find a newer version is released.
airman_dopey
Then wait until Thursday, see what the announcement is, and purchase then. Problem solved
LukeB
Cool, I didn't even realise there was going to be an announcement on August 1st!

barry99705
Will it run Android?
LukeB
Do you think there will indeed be a mark V then?
SymPak
Unless there is new hardware that is leaps and bounds better than the make 4 i doubt there will be a new version released. The big thing in the pipeline is 3.0 firmware.
potato
I would say the Mark IV still has a while, the mark V will probably support 802.01AC and have a faster processor, maby even gigabit ethernet. 802.11AC is not mainstream yet.
barry99705
Do you think there will indeed be a mark V then? If Mr-Protocol says "soon" then yes. Version 3 os will be out first though, most likely.
boob00
I like the tease "Soon......" Does anyone know where this announcement will be made? I would assume it will be on a new episode of hak5 sometime today!
Mr-Protocol
If Mr-Protocol says "soon" then yes. Version 3 os will be out first though, most likely. The soon was for teasing of the thread Darren made with the slots. Not any indication of what it is. ;-) "Soon" it will be public.
