Pineapple mark 4, USB hubs and external power question

Hi there,

I recent recived the Pineapple mark 4 elite kit and was not aware the battery pack included cannot even power the pineapple and alfa (alfa working in montor mode but turns off when deauthing) at the same time. Also i want to have a usb connected at the same time using a USB hub for both the USB and the alfa wirless card.

My question is what hub would i best be using (actual name of a hub, i know it needs external power) and my second question is do i need a second external battrie for the USB hub or just a more powerful external battrie?

I ask that second question because am worried about putting to much power trough the pineapple and damaging it (if thats possible with a battery).

Hope to hear back soon because am really kean to get up and running so i can play with this device

Here's what I'd suggest:

Anker 8400mHa - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0067TQQI8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

D-Link 4 Port Powered Hub - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006B7DA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00

USB Right Angle Cable - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W8EIMW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

USB to Type M Power Cable - http://hakshop.myshopify.com/collections/accessory/products/usb-power-cable

That battery pack will run the hub, all it's devices, and the pineapple.

That looks grate! just to make sure, do i plug the external battery into the hub and then the pineapple, usb and alfa card will all get power from the hub?

Here is how you should have it hooked up.

Anker Port -> USB Hub > Flash Drive

USB Hub > Alfa Card
USB Upstream Port > Pineapple USB Port

Anker Port -> Pineapple

pictures would be agrate help thank you andalso di you have to butcher any of the usb cabels to stop power back feeding?

I didn't have any problems with power feeding back. In fact, I believe that the D-Link hubs have a safety feature that actually shuts them down if it detects power feedback.

By the way, I found that I get about 10 hours of runtime off the 8400mHa Anker when running the Pineapple, Pi, and 036NHA. So that's not too shabby. Longer than I'd want to be out anyways.
