telot
I joined the hak5 community in the last few months, and have never noticed much activity down here in the Interceptor forums. Whats the deal? Did it not really work all that well? Too many hack arounds needed to get it going properly (too complex)? Or has the pineapple taken everyones attention away from it? The concept sure seems sound. I'm sourcing a Fon+ right now to give it a try myself, just wondering why its so dead around here... telot
Mr-Protocol
I would like this project to pump out a new model and be revived but ideally it all comes down to time. People now a days are becoming more and more busy and these projects are done as a side project for fun.

You'd need a USB to wifi and USB to ethernet adapter, but then you're set. It'd be waaaaaay more powerful than the fon+, as its 700mhz ARM and 256MB of ram smokes the pants off any puny fon. Plus with the expandable SD storage, or even a USB hdd, you've got a butt ton of storage available. Not to mention you could hack POE for it...Hmmm....its looking more and more likely that I'm going to be buying 5 or more of these PI's when they finally come out. telot
Mr-Protocol
I'm more looking at the OM2P. Yes a small mini computer like that would work, but I think it's much easier to setup an embedded device basically as a hardware appliance. It is also easier for others to just flash a firmware rather than go through a possible complex setup from scratch.
singh763173
I agree with the above - I would love to see the interceptor revived - I want to possibly try building one of these but the hardware is non-existant from my searches :( Someone start a poll! You can still find a Fon+ or two on ebay from time to time. I'm going to buy one and post my progress, though I'd love for it to be on a more updated hardware platform (more readily available to all). Anyone care to join me in trying to source said hardware? telot
singh763173
Have a look at what Mr-Protocol suggested - the OM2P - looks like it would be perfect! I want to build one too but I am unable to build firmware

PineDominator
Did Santa come thru? this is planned I believe using the new pineapple mark 4, because it has 2 ethernet ports and wifi It should allow one to switch from jasager/karma to broadcasting a wpa protected ap and bridging eth0 and eth1 together. could possibly even use the tools built in too:-D as well it has usb so even keeping a copy on a usb stick is possible and confirmed, I could imagine connecting to the interceptor's ap and then copying all the logged packets then erasing for new ones. would be cool to have sslstrip running as well as any captured packets could be encrypted.
