krew790
Entering a competition to learn and have fun not really to win; what it is, is a security competition. Where you set up a network and you are being attack and you try to maintain it. Just starting out in it so dont know that much; but wondering where to go to learn alot about network security? Mr-Protocol
There is no "overnight guide to network security". My collective knowledge of network security started i'll say back in 1999 when I started programming and sniffing yahoo packets to cause people to get critical errors on yahoo messenger. Then morphed to current with Metasploit 4 and computer/digital forensics :)

Infiltrator
Why don't you watch the securitytube.net and IronGeek.com videos, there are plenty of infoSec information there.

I've been on irongeek all week watching videos from derbycon. @OP there's actually a good talk on Red Teaming by Raphael Mudge (creator of Armitage) he talks all about the Collegiate Cyber Defense competition
