Browsers For Ubuntu?

Recently I came into possession of an Asus eee PC. It has Ubuntu as the OS. Connected last night on to the forums here with Firefox using WLAN. Apparently, Firefox is the default browser for Ubuntu? Was doing some research into Ubuntu as I'm more familiar with Windows OS and MAC OS. Really liking the Ubuntu OS. Crisp and clean and has a very nice feel to it. Would like to try out some other browsers with it and was considering perhaps Opera. Would like to know how many members here use Ubuntu on a daily basis and what browser they use with it. Comments? Recommendations? FYI Firefox is my favorite browser at the moment, but, I'm willing to try out other browsers. I've done this on my desktop PC which has a Windows OS. Who knows the next one I try might become my new favorite. I like to try new things, especially when it comes to computers. Liking the Ubuntu OS very much.

I use firefox, chrome, chromium(=chrome, with better privacy)

Most of time only firefox, then if want to ssh tunnel some sites I use chrome for that.

Thanks for your response. :)

Chrome you say? Might try that. I've used Google on my desktop myself. Which chromium browser do you use? I like Comodo Dragon.

Google Chrome > Chromiminnmun

Have tried both and found Chrome is less buggy.

Interesting. I've found the opposite. Am actually online here at the moment using Comodo Dragon. Comodo Dragon apparently isn't available for Ubuntu as of yet. Was just checking the Comodo forums. Bit leery of Google Chrome due to security issues, but, am still willing to give it a try.

Thanks for your response. :)

i love chrome i feel it is better layout for me then firefox, also less problems with chrome

I love Firefox. I likes its layout better. I've found less of a problem with it. But, will give Chrome a try with Ubuntu.

I'm online right now with my WLAN connection and am on Firefox. Going to be downloading some browsers and trying them out.

Thanks for your response. ;)

$ sudo update-alternatives –config x-www-browser

There are 2 alternatives which provide `x-www-browser’.

Selection Alternative

———————————————–

1 /usr/bin/firefox

*+ 2 /usr/bin/opera

Press enter to keep the default[*], or type selection number:

Very interesting how the commands differ in this OS to set the default browsers. This is going to be fun.:) Also noticed that there are 32bit versions of Ubuntu and 64bit Ubuntu. Very interesting. ;)

Yea chrome is better than chromium

Still I prefer friefox, since with firefox sync you can get firefox in your every computer to see all your saved passwords etc.
