still learning
I did a podcast a while back, I beleive you can just get a program like Audacity to record your podcast in mp3, then the podcast itself streams using an RSS file. Here is a link that shows you how to make one http://radio.about.com/od/podcastin1/a/aa030805a.htm
digip
Client, or creator? Whats wrong with using your browsers rss features as the client?

holastickboy
I recommend Songbird (http://getsongbird.com) because it allows you to subscribe to rss feeds, so you can add the podcast URL and it will auto download podcasts as they are available. Otherwise, Miro give you a nice UI to browse new podcasts
wh1t3 and n3rdy
Another vote for songbird but if it's just to get podcast I totally recommend gpodder.
