  1. I was installing & checking out other tools on mai finally fixed Fon. I need a way to save/access files files straight to my computer through the Ethernet cable. Is such a thing possible? Also, in the future so I dont need to unplug my computer [only 1 eth port] from the internet to connect the Fon, How do I setup something like this?
  2. Woot! I flashed with your firmware & didnt have to see any errors. :D Jasager is back & time for me to learn stuff! Thanks much!
  3. Your firmware? Is this firmware the Jasager Firmware here? http://www.digininja.org/jasager/download.php I have another problem. When I try to install Jasager, I get root@FruitBasket:~# opkg install /tmp/jasager-2.1-1_mips.ipk opkg: /tmp/jasager-2.1-1_mips.ipk: No such file or directory An error ocurred, return value: 716563936. Could not find a solution.
  4. Hello all, I was trying to follow the stickied [install guide] & ran into a problem. When I type ipkg install haserl_0.8.0-2_mips.ipk & ipkg install webif_0.3-10_mips.ipk, I get the error that IPKG does not exist. I saw in another user post that he did OPKG instead, so I tried it. ..I ended up with a blank router screen. I setup the Fon again, so I'm back at ipkg install haserl_0.8.0-2_mips.ipk. Is there something I need to setup 1st?
  5. Its alive!!! The code worked! Thanks super much for your help! Your a genius with this stuff huh?
  6. No, I didnt hit Ctrl+C. :( Does the Fon know to boot OpenWRT? or did I have to set it to? I didnt see any steps for that.
  7. This is what I did. STEP 8, reboot STEP 9, wait until fs is created == Executing boot script in 10.000 seconds - enter ^C to abort RedBoot> I waited, but only got the Redboot> thing. The guide says I should get this: ... br-lan: port 1(eth0) entering learning state br-lan: topology change detected, propagating br-lan: port 1(eth0) entering forwarding state PPP generic driver version 2.4.2 jffs2_scan_eraseblock(): End of filesystem marker found at 0x0 jffs2_build_filesystem(): unlocking the mtd device... done. jffs2_build_filesystem(): erasing all blocks after the end marker... done. mini_fo: using base directory: / mini_fo: using storage directory: /jffs Any ideas?
  8. Ohh, I see. I never set my IP. *Fixed Now I am stuck at Step 9. I did reset from step 8 & nothing seems different.
  9. wOOT Installing the driver got me a connection! Now this is progress! I dunno what to do after though. :D I was following a guide [Link] & got stuck at step 3. I downloaded the program & 2 other files, then typed "load -r -b %{FREEMEMLO} openwrt-atheros-vmlinux.lzma" into Redboot. I got back "Can't load 'openwrt-athrtos-vmlinux.lzma': some sort of network error". Any ideas?
  10. Ohh forgot to check this thread; Thanks for your reply! So, I plugged in the cable, & was able to open a Putty session. I hit enter many times, but nothing happened. I dont have Red Boot installed on my computer, if it is required. [the config got confusing] EDIT: Wait, RedBoot doesnt belong on the computer does it? Well, as you can see, I am a hardware haxing noob.
  11. Hello I recently started using AviSynth & I wanted to know how to load subtitles from a media file I opened with DirectShowSource(). [the subtitles are in the media files; not separate files] I could not find the answer on the interwebz. EDIT: I found an alternative. I load the AVS to Virtual Dub then right click Haali Splitter in the system tray & set subs there. After, I save the AVS as AVI.
  12. I put off debricking my Fon for a while now because the steps to access the Fon looked far to advanced for me. I am on break from college, so I have plenty of time to learn new things. Can anyone help me out with debricking? I have the wires connected to the Fon [except ground]. The debricking guides say I need a bunch of software with like a billion options...[like cygwin] I got Cygwin, but have no idea how to use it. Thats all I have.
  13. There was glue holding it down before, but it came off. I decided to fix it into something that wont "come off". Adapter plug battery? Well, it was kinda pointless to set this up for the Fon case, but it works well in the Pineapple case.
  14. I move the Fon into the normal case for transportaion or if I dont want it to be crushed by anything & I put it in the Pineapple for coolness. :P The wire snapped after a while from movement. Has anyone else broken the battery pack wires by accident? This is what I did to stabilize them: [the wires hold very well now that I modded the Fon] Wire Mod: I used an exacto knife & cut a bit if the round thing... [in the picture] After that, I forced the wires in. Case Mod: I used a knife again to cut a small hole [slopes in] at the corners of the Internet port. End Result: The wires lock in place when the card is fully inserted.
  15. Ahh, so it was bricked. That haxed serial port looks like an awesome add-on. Might as well do it instead of the cell phone charger one. :D Thanks for the info!
  16. I have a printer that causes problems on the computer the driver is installed on. This printer interferes with USB support of all the computers in my home, as in: - VMware could not detect "any" USB device I plugin - I cannot eject a flash drive - Some other probs I cant remember [XP & Vista] I installed it in VMware Server to work around the problem. I had it working fine as a print server for my home until the next boot [real computer]. When I booted, the real computer installed the printer without my permission & ♥♥♥♥ed up my setup... I had already set the option "Dont check online for drivers" so that means it was already in the computer [driver cache?].
  17. Hello, I wanted to stop Vista from autoinstalling things without my permission [screws up some things], so I want to delete any unused drivers that Vista may use in the future. I saw in Google that there are a few folders like: "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\", but I think that deleting those folders will corrupt my in-uses drivers. I could not find out how to stop the driver auto install. Is there a safe method for getting rid of unused drivers?
  18. LOL 150+?!?! I should have taken that poll to 1000!
  19. ahh actually, I uninstalled the program cause Vista was spammimg me with UAC-like stoofs. The program wanted to hide all my windows to show only SSHd & a vista UAC-like popup ask me if I will let it hide my windows. After I hit yes, SSHd wants to update, then restart. When I start SSHd again, it does the whole process again. Each popup is about 10 sec to go through, & only gets me the same update window.
  20. Nub question. I failed uber bad for the past many hours. I am testing the freeSSHd; both server & client on the same computer. I could not get it to work from remote locations, so I put that off until I solve my biggest problem. I cannot log in the account I set up for SSH. - In SSHd, I created the account with a simple password. [many times] - In plink, I ran: plink -N -D 9999 192.168.1.7 - I get the user & password prompt, but it doesnt work: Using username "RandomClown". RandomClown@192.168.1.7's password: Access denied RandomClown@192.168.1.7's password: Access denied RandomClown@192.168.1.7's password: FATAL ERROR: Server sent disconnect message type 2 (protocol error): "Too many attempts." I tried many passwords, even 123, & the letter a. Any ideas anyone? Thanks for reading
  21. Ohh I wasnt being specific. I meant the USB boot stuff like backtrack, Gparted, & other stuff.
  22. Is there a way to have more than 1 tools on the USB? When I tried to add multiple tools to my thumb drive, it asked to overwrite. Im sure thats not good :D
