ok i forgot to mention something... mybad... but i am scanning his hdd off of my computer my windows install i just plugged in his hdd (being sata so its plug and play) and started scanning if that makes things any clearer? maybe you already understood it? i dunno\ Thanks for the fast replies ~silent

ok so i'm using kapersky to do some virus scans on my friend HDD who recently discovered a virus... so i'm cleaning it off and when it comes time to "quarentine" a certain file called "go.zip" it askes me for a password... i have no idea what it is.. my buddy doesnt have a password on his account and leaving the field blank i dont have an option to quarentine so i could use some help here... thanks ~silent ~i'll post screens asap

ok sry about the double post! but everything suggested hasnt worked although i thank you for your time and effort in helping me.. but i was finding that i was having other problems.. like no pictures were being displayed.. pain in the but so i am just going to re-install xp i again appologize for "waisting your time" ~silent

not so dumb of a question but yes this is a legal copy of windows... its one where the same key works on many installations. i dont remeber the exact name but its legal

i have an lcd monitor but the problem didnt exist with my other windows installation which was xp home

thats the problem it has been like this since my installation...

Yes i have tried changing the background but i havnt tried resolution i will give that a go i have created another account problem still exists

@Keelbug -- sparda said that PNG uses transparency so i was merely stating that i have done the PNG and that it didnt change but i have also used jpeg and nothing changes

ok pebkac very funny... and i tried setting a png as a background the problem still exists... it might come down to a full blown re-install...

ok so i tried all of those ideas... none worked... and yes i turned "it" off and on again.. the it could have been numourus(forgive my spelling) things.. i assumed that u ment either the drop shadows or my computer.. or my theme.. so i am going to update my computer to all the latest updates.. and see what happens then.. this is starting to bug me thanks for the such quick replies ~silent

ok i've honestly been looking for 2.5 hours to find a fix for my problem.. none of the suggestions i have tried have worked... "EPIC FAIL" and now its kinda starting to bug me... here's a picture.. of what i mean.. kinda gets annoying after a while.. i'm using xp pro sp3 with a legit key..
