Well at least we all know now, we can rest easy. I just hope you don't do it again. As for working for the FBI, they're probably after you as I type, if they haven't got you already! I'd unplug your router, turn off your microwave (as they can track the signal) and hide under the bed ASAP!

You're either a bit late, or very early.

The most hilarious part (aside from mubix) was Darren, every episode
when interviewing the resident tech expert he says "I'll play the idiot here,
explain to me". De Niro better watch out, those acting skills are sharp.

Simple, money.
Oh and I think you're probably lucky, that thing is bastard noisy. Or at least the one I got my hands on was, I didn't use a card though... Worked fine as a freeview box with record facility. I got one from someone who signed up to the BT package, broadband etc, but had Sky, so kicked it to me.

Mine on here was a name... I don't use it for anything else. I always use crappy passwords for forums, as I tend to visit them from more than one location - often public. I know there are a few good solutions out there, I'm just very lazy. I don't even know what my demonoid account password is, it's the one that was sent to me. I keep meaning to change it.

Very basic...

I don't really have any loyalty, I buy from the cheapest. Some UK stores:

I think it has changed, but for the worse? I don't know. I have been around since the first season. Though I didn't and still don't have any input into the past community projects. So I don't miss that part, as I never was part of it, I barely even look at these forums.
As far as the show, there are things I miss, but then there are some pretty good additions. As far as I'm aware there are some pretty hard core members of the community that felt pretty poorly treated, so I think they generally feel the show has taken some bad turns. My evolvement went no further than sending $10 for stickers and downloading the shows. And I'm still happy to check in from time to time and watch the show. This is just going to become like Diggnation, look at some of the threads on that.
Anyway, I'd still call myself a fan but did prefer the first couple seasons. But I do agree with Vako, I was in a very different place in my life, for one I was a student. So dosing around watching Hak5 drinking was the norm, it's not now and that doesn't reflect on the show. What I'm saying is, even though I don't download every show like I used to, that's not really down to the show.

I feel old saying this, even though I'm far from it.
What is the fucking point? I've now stopped pirating software, have done for a while. Trials are there for a reason. If you wouldn't pay for it, don't use it. Support the free ones, keep them alive. Or just pay for it, I quite like Kaspersky, and the basic AV isn't expensive, nor is the internet security.
This is software I should point out... :(

If I have this right, I can't help but think what an inefficient use of 100mb. It's kind of like a greatest hits album, just host the links. That way people can pick and choose what they need/want. Maybe I'm wrong...

I'm not really active on any. I will go through stages of posting on certain ones. I move around a lot, so can go months and forget about ones I may have joined. So I usually don't join, unless I wanted to say something.
In saying that I read quite a few maybe once or twice, get what I need and never go back. I've posted on 3 this past couple weeks.

That password generator really isn't as stupid as people make it out to be. A password like "joshua85" might look obvious in retrospect, but there are so many permutations, like "85joshua", "Joshua85", "85Joshua", "Jo5hu4", etc. that it certainly makes sense to use a script to generate all the combinations for you. If I can't guess the password in the first 5 tries, I usually move on to other methods. Guessing passwords is like playing the lottery. You might get lucky once in a while and get a $5 prize, but most of the time you're wasting your time and money. It's still pretty basic though. I played around with it earlier, and I guess it's a fairly quick way to generate a user specific dictionary. Although I made the password rocky28, rocky being a pet name, and 28 being a house number. I stuck 28 in Key words about the victim. It used 28 in some passwords, but never generated rocky28. Thus not cracking the password.
There's more interesting things on remote-exploit though, so if anything it sends people there.

I've also enjoyed the recent stuff from Matt.
-
I may been reading it wrong, but are you saying Matt got gout, and gave birth to a mutated fetus? If not I don't understand what happened...

Sorry for quality, done with a phone. I am also wearing a Pac man 1980 champion t shirt lol
That's ace. I'll have to get one of them. I've never been one for buying computer related slogan t-shirts. Though I made my own T-shirt for charity, it was meant more as a piss take to geeks, not meant to be funny as such, just a different take. But it had the usual MaCmillan Cancer Support on the back with, cout<<"Hello world, we care too!"<<endl; On the front, we all had to do something and I was the only one interested in computers.

Episode 5x07
in Hak5
I dont know if anyone else answered it yet but i think the answer to the trivia is manhole. I remember mom kicking us off the high tech P2, with 64 MB ram and a 4.3 gig HD running win 95 I think i was a sophmore when we got it.good show brings back memories.
cool beans darren? really?
My first 95 system had 8MB RAM,
Oh and the BBS has been up for some time now, not just for this show.

I must admit I do like these. It's strange how after years of using something you like going back to what you had, but at the time you can't wait to upgrade. Kinda like games consoles or even cars. In saying this, get to fuck if you think I'm gonna spend that kind of money. Maybe they do a good service, but I'd rather spend half the cash on a modern keyboard. Sorry I realise this isn't really related. Oh and if you're someone who buys one of these - I know Matt was liking them - send us some cash while you're at it, seeming you like to throw money away. Rip off bastards.

Kind of, liked snaked around from the back of the case. Case would be head on, then with maybe smoke coming from them. Like a smoking gun, I did think about one being ethernet and other being firewire; but i think 1 or 2 rj45 would be better suited. Maybe fire coming from one destroying something, slight horns coming from top of case. Haven't thought too much about colours. Will have a play around at some point.
-
I may have a go then, I was thinking on the lines of having ethernet cables coming from the back... Well it looks good in my head, if I get some time I'll have a shot.
-
Some sketches in here, along with some classic Wess action.

Depends on what your budget is, if you're on a tight one LCD would be best. Cheapo plasmas look gash. But there are many LCDs offering 100-120hz. I would go into the store ans see which you like the best, it's your opinion that counts.
-
Did they not do something like this? It was a long time ago, I can't remember if it was a piss take or something. But Darren took his laptop to someone, think it might have been Harrison?? They used a Gateway laptop if I remember correctly. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about.

I had a T41, great little thing. Had to replace just about everything on it, but still.

Linux Mint has been getting quite popular, so thought I would have a look. I think it is pretty good, if you've never used linux it should help out quite a lot.
