The password is used to encrypt the data of the files inside the archive. It doesn't work like a user account password on (say) windows. Such a method would be completely useless for an archive.
So its more of a salt than simply a stored string in the file. Makes more sense as it would pobably be easily defeated otherwise....
It's not really a salt, it's an encryption key.

Yeah, kinda old news. Polticans need something to make them useful, a big global nebulous enemy you can never really defeat.
1984 seems to be coming true. Where's Big Brotehr when we need him...
We need Big Brother? The opposite surely? You mean Emmanuel Goldstein? Although I don't think he actually exists.

There's a reason you can impeach a president!
Well, I can't, maybe you can.

I didn't come to the conclusion recently. But they keep doing it and keep getting away with it. If I was a country leader, I would have to consider moving in on America and stopping Bushes rain of terror. The only problem there is that we already know they have weapons of mass destruction, and ones of the largest over kill armies in the world.
Well, Bush was democratically elected (this time, anyway, maybe not in 2000) so it wouldn't really be right to try and depose him, would it? Of course the CIA have backed numerous coup d'etats against democratically elected leaders including in Iran, Guatemala, Chile and probably the attempted 2002 overthrow of Hugo Chavez (who is incidentally probably one of the most misrepresented people in the media, he's not an angel, but the media—both in Venezuela and internationally—seriously are out to get him). But we don't want to stoop to their level, do we?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070602/ap_on_re_af/somalia_us"This is a global war on terror and the U.S. remains committed to reducing terrorist capabilities when and where we find them," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said.
May be I'm been stupid, but I can't help but think that any one who uses the phrase "war on terror" in a genuine context is a lier, hypocrite and spin doctor. Then try and see past what they said (well, I do this most of the time any way) to try and figure out what they actually are saying.
Am I the paranoid one? :P
Have you only just realised that? I mean a lot of people having been saying pretty much the same thing since 11/9. The war on terror is the US's new perpetual war to replace the war on communism.

Well, you could have more than one download going if you are downloading drinks with not many seeders which don't take up all your bandwidth by themselves.

By the way, OpenBSD isn't Linux or really in any way related to Linux other than that they are both Unix-like OSes (OpenBSD more so than Linux).

I used googles language tools and it came up as Male. :???:
That's because you attempted to translated it as Japanese.

This is a bug with notepad, and it will work with any 4-3-3-5 word combo.
Well done for pointing that out, if only I'd posted a link to a site saying that in my last post.

Oh, and if you translated that from Chinese to English (since it isn't Japanese), you get "Offer Ben Italian Mount got Tou reflect mongoose seized".

Don't make Alli cry again
On a unrelated matter: You might also want to consider not leaving uSteam on all the time... or putting a "uStream" warning sign on the door of the room the uStream camera is in.
Also 19:00 EDT would be 11:00 GMT+1(?) the same day (either way, it's still 8 hours behind Hak5House time)
19:00 EDT is 00:00 BST, the UK is east of the US.

I'd just like to point out again that you don't use the -p argument to specify the port to connect to on the computer acting as a client.
-
Perhaps he got so used to posting (usually badly written) questions in here that he just posted here out of habit.
-
I've fairly certain that -n isn't needed, and that -p is wrong for the transmitting computer, it should just be "netcat <ip> <port>" (although netcat is usually called nc rather than netcat in my experience).

Acronis True Image can do that but it would be over 2 dvds for a 60GB hardrive. You get a 15 day trial.
Huh? Over 2? That is true, but it seems like a strange thing to say since it would take at least 7 DVDs. Why not over 5, which would then at least wouldn't be several hundred percent out?
-
There are boxes with multiple tuners (at least in the UK), however they only have one which actually outputs and the others are used for recording TV onto the hard drive at the same time. With one box with one tuner it's impossible to watch more than one channel at the same time.

Well, here's a prank you can do without much planning:
1. Get some petrol/gasoline.
2. Get some form of ignition (matches, lighter, whatever).
3. Pour the petrol/gasoline on the floor inside your school.
4. Ignite the petrol/gasoline with your previously obtained ignition system.
5. Move away from the fire and out of the school.

I'll get looking on a hostel now, I have a couple of days free from lectures and work and I am in London right now.
I'll bring a couple back to choose from which I think have what we want.
Bump.

Who thinks they are smart? What are you saying? The Broken (the thing you linked to) was the original, the Hak5 sketch was a parody of that.

Well there are, in the form of frequent HIV tests, but if someone catches it right after their last test from someone not in porn then they can go on to infect others before their next test.
