  1. Because of all the empty beer cases I had lying around, I figured that instead of spending my money this year on some 'ninja' clothing that's simply a black sheet, I'd create my own Samurai costume. I know the picture quality isn't great (flatmate can't take work a camera for the life of him). Anyone else get creative this year?

You may not be ble to see them easily but I have two plastic uchigatanas on my hips.

And yes, Busch is close to the being the worst beer on the planet. I only drink it because it's damn cheap and great for peer-bong. Enjoy!

  2. I know how to copy the file but I wanted to know if there was a way to pull it out so I don't have to go searching thru everything

That's what I mean. If you're looking for a way to simply get it, say by inserting a usb flash drive and *bam* you've got their entire history on a .txt, then you're going to want to look into modding the Switchblade. If you're implimenting this on a computer you have normal access to along with others (like family or roommates and you want to easily check where everyone has been surfing too) then you'll want a simple exe that once run, will produce the txt on the desktop or wherever for you to view.

Am I right in what you're looking for?

  3. I am working on a googlemaps API so you can signup and find a ride or people to go with you etc..

A cyber-carpool site? Sounds like the perfect thing for a cereal-killer/rapist.

I'm joking. This would actually be a cool thing if it could later be a nationwide service. Every "Save the Earth" org would kiss your arse.

  4. ya for sure....ca you give me some simple materials i should have just for every day hacking of devices or making new things?

This thread has a ton of tools/devices that are useful depending on your skill level and goal in mind. Have a read through and you'll get the idea. Have a good look at Metatron's. Most of that stuff you'll never use but it's nice to just drool at the posibilities.

My fav. tool for modding stuff: A Dremel. Cuts just about everything and easy to use. Just be sure to wear shop goggles.

  5. Basically I am trying to figure out how this guy is managing to get access to the passwords seeing as he doesn't have physical access to the PC. I have seen the last password of the now compromised account and it wouldn't have been an easy to guess one being made up of chars and numbers and chars being mixed and not in the form of a word. So, this means he has a way of finding out without guess work. I am just looking for pointers on what I can check to look for signs of external access to the PC or if someone can confirm that it is possible to easily hack a password directly on the MSN website.

    1. Is the computer on a wireless network? (if yes, see #2. If no then see #5)

    2. Is the wireless network encrypted? (If yes see #3, If no see #4)

    3. What form of encryption is implimented? (End of questions)

    4. Then encrypt it. He's probably just sniffing the traffic and decrypting.

    5. There may be a keylogger installed on her comp - check for any weird processes running and the back of her computer for any weird devices. Also, a version of VNC could be running. Check for that as well. (If nothing of either possibility, see #6)

    6. Then he's probably leet and your friend is screwed.

I ran out of questions, can't think of anythign else right now (studying for exams and checking forums don't work well together). Anyone else have anything to add?

  6. armadaender I think you were just in the wrong troop.

My troop consisted of my god-loving neighbor (I have nothing against religion, he was just one of those over-the-top nuts) and a few other kids that had no friends outside of eachother. Frankly, when I was with them I felt like the outcast because I've never spoken to any of them in my life nor could I relate to any of them on any level. They were all really into the scout thing, wanting to be eagle scouts and whatnot. They would make wicker baskets using dead brush, I'd take that brush and build a blair-witch style character and lit it on fire.

Wrong troop? Possibly, but if I happened to end up with a group like yours, I probably would have 3rd degree burns all over and unable to go outside b/c of the sun.

  7. My question is, why do you need such a program? This isn't something that a programming class would require nor something that I could see useful unless you were looking to see where someone else has been surfing. It could be just me but it sounds as though you want to spy on a gf or someone.

If you're in dire need of such an exe, take a look at the Switchblade and modd the code so that it also copies surfing history.

  8. On a completely other note my school is offering an ethical hacking course next year :)

    Looking forward to that.

But for some reason a prerequisite is a moral development course... I wonder why....

Wish my uni would offer such courses (I’m hopefully transferring after the spring semester to a better school where such courses are offered).

The closest we have to that would be our networking class. Just a bunch of us sitting around, nmaping the entire campus and reporting vulnerabilities in workstations to the techs (who never seem to fix them). We once had a competition to see who could find the most unpatched laptops within certain wireless-subnets in ten minutes. I didn’t win but the humorous part of the whole fiasco was the massive amount of student-owned laptops found on the library’s wireless subnet that were open on just about every port. Need a thesis paper? I’m sure I could find one in the topic you’re looking for in there somewhere.

  9. Our high school uses a community college for some of it computer classes..and when i go there, they let me bring my laptop and i dont have to use a login or anything. All i do is plug in a cat5 and im on the network.

I just don't know what I can do yet.

Nmap the crap out of it?

  10. I wonder what some of the requirements are for obtaining the 'activity patch'. (I don't remember those. I was in the scouts for about two months way back but I got kicked out for messing with fire a bit-too much.)

    1. Turn in 10 of your movie-pirating friends.

    2. Turn in 20 music-pirating friends.

  11. I know what UNIX is, I just wanted a funny one liner for it. UNIX is more then a brand name, if you haven’t experienced AIX, Solaris, HP-UX and a hand full of others, you are missing out on a great thing.

I'm curious as to know which versions of the Unix OS are you're favorite. As well as those of anyone else here who has worked with any of them. True unix systems, not unix-like.
