  1. Drug + Wrench may seem an ideal approach, but don't forget you will get a criminal record on your name for life.
  2. Its been proven that the Department of Defense super computers in the USA, can crack up to 512 bits of encryption, now we are talking. Do you think they will lend me their super computers to do my dirt work. Or I might have to get IBM involved to help build a super cluster of computers.
  3. Thanks guys for all the replies, had a feeling that decrypting a drive not knowing the software used to encrypt and the key used decrypt the data would be near to impossible. I guess when quantum computing turns reality, it may become possible, until them will have to wait.
  4. The only issue I see with Alfa AWUS050NH v2 a/b/g/n is compatibility with backtrack 4. Apparently there are some drivers that can make it work with backtrack 4. However this Alfa AWUS036H v5 b/g, doesn't seem to have much issues, which is the version that Darren uses. Besides the Alfa AWUS050NH has a high gain antenna, good for long range connectivity.
  5. Try out EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional, seems to be pretty good to believe. http://www.easeus.com/product.htm
  6. Very impressive, now you need to get the numbers.

I may be no expert in AI, but I do believe it may come real one day. Look at how the technology is processing nowadays. Look at the robots engineered in Japan, they can walk by themselves So it may not be possible now, but it could happen in the future. I may be the lay-person as you suggested, but I know my shit.
  8. Re-usable energy I like the sound of that. Would be interesting to see, how you are going to be building a wind generator with that motor. I also plan on building an off grid solar battery system. To power up my stuffs at home, I just bought a power meter to measure how much watts my electronics are consuming, the power bill has been too expense and if I can put this system operational, than it will shave a few $100.00 dollars off the bill.
  9. Currently is there any software that can figure out, what type of encryption it is by perhaps looking at the configuration, or you would have to brute force it somehow?
  10. Hi All, I know there is always a way for decrypting files, hard drives and so on. But the question is, how to decrypt a drive not knowing what type of encryption has been used. Is there a software that can tell what encryption has been used? Just to make everyone aware, I am not planning on hacking anyones computer This is just for experimental purposes, I am trying on my own. Thank you very much Regards, Infiltrator
  11. Would't be a bad idea, put some money aside for buying a house or car. On the other hand, Im not much of a bing spender, all I get from work goes to my bank account. Its a good thing I still leave with my parents, I get to save quite a lot.

I just watched a Future Weapons video on Youtube, that had an EMP device assembled somewhere in a desert within the United States. As a demonstration, this guy flew a remote controlled helicopter into the EMP device just as it was coming online and the helicopter just dropped out of the SKY. After I finished watching the video, I realize how integrated our lives are with the technology, and how much we depend on it to live and to do our jobs. And if an E-Bomb were to be dropped off, we wouldn't be able to get on with out lives. Now this is totally serious. And I also remember when NY City lost its main power to the whole city, the people were just lost and helpless. Technology is wonderful thing, and it can help us in many aspect of our lives but it can also greatly affect us all.
  13. I initially took a couple of computer courses, on how to build, repair and troubleshoot computer issues. I also read a lot of articles on hardware installation and troubleshooting. That's one way to learn and gain experience as well. Another way would be to practice on your own or you could employ an experienced technician and learn from him or buy computer magazines that teaches how to troubleshoot issues.
  14. Or you could use a double-sided table, works fine too.

I would take a guess and say that the Department of Defense in the USA already has a prototype built for blasting electronics in a small confined area. Its just a matter of time, until it gets advanced and powerful enough.
  16. May be you right less than 10 years. I remember the other day, I was browsing the Computerworld website and came across an article that talked about a new wireless chipset that supported transfer speeds of 400Mbps, it may not sound a lot but its definitely a big improvement in this area. I guess give it another few more years and we will hopefully have the first wireless standard that can support gigabits speeds.

You will need a vast amount of electricity to generate a powerful enough EMP wave that can knock out devices on a large or mid scale. Its feasible... Good luck!!!
  19. Not now, may be in the next 10 years. But you could use 10Gbit Ethernet instead.

That is true, artificial intelligence is still a long way off to come, but it could come true eventually.
  21. Hi, I was doing a bit of reading on Hakin9 and came across this nifty utility. It may come handy to some of you. BotHunter is the first, and still the best, network-based malware infection diagnosis system out there. It tracks the two-way communication flows between your computer(s) and the Internet, comparing your network traffic against an abstract model of malware communication patterns.(1) Its goal is to catch bots and other coordination-centric malware infesting your network, and it is exceptionally effective. BotHunter will help you catch malware infections that go regularly undetected by antivirus systems and completely ignored by traditional intrusion detection systems. Let's find out who really owns your network. Source: http://www.bothunter.net/

Computer worms are something that truly catches my attention. I've always been so fascinated and amazed about them. Their techniques, methods, payloads and ways of infiltrating into a system and most importantly the ability to remain undetected in some cases. As each day passes and the technology progresses on its pace, worms are getting clever and becoming more and more sophisticated to a level that one day they will have their own artificial intelligence. Now that's scary.
  23. www.Irongeek.com www.hakin9.org (News and Magazines) http://www.packetstormsecurity.org/ (This one doesn't have videos, but has lots of hacking tools; specially exploits).
  24. If budget is not an issue for you, you could building a new system with the latest i7 CPU on it, 12 cores and plenty of performance. I just had a quick look and read through the Parallel stuff and its amazing in terms of what it can do, the only issue I see with i7 is that it has no support for VT-d. So it won't have direct I/O access.
  25. Hi, Don't know if anyone heard of this website, but I would definitely recommend it. It has lots of info and videos on security. http://pauldotcom.com/ Enjoy! Regards, Infiltrator
