It would appear that i am answering my own question. The wireless network does not require the CCAA (Cisco Clean Access Agent) it only requires the VPN login with student ID and password. But the dorms which only have an wired network require the CCAA wihch was only available for Windows up tell Version 4.0. The ways I have considered bypassing the CCAA is using an Server with their required software and bridge connections between my laptop and the network. Which now that i think about it might require a simple proxy on the server as well.
I am not fully aware on their policy regarding Linux. But the system stores the MAC address for ten min after shutdown so. Booting into Knoppix or a Live distro and then back to windows might work as well.
"https://nerp.net/~jcarlson/cca_.html" had some good information.
crashinc.googlepages.com/cleanaccessagent , kevin.sourceforge.net/howto.html this is another thingy that does similar things.
From what I have read the VPN will get the information about your computer from ones browser and with Firefox the user agent switcher will allow your browser to mislead them into thinking you are using a diggerent OS http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/ or can be done using
They state that "The Clean Access Agent will scan your system to ensure that you have the latest updates for your opperating system and that you have our LICENSED COPY OF SYMANTEC NORTON ANTIVIROUS"
Of course wikipedia knows all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisco_Clean_Access
That is what I was able to find.
