  1. Heya good to see your back sorry to hear your still having troubles to access your fon you shouldnt have to re flash If you plug it into your router ( since its a DHCP server ) it should assign an ip to the fon then you can access the routers interface and see what ip was assigned then log in thru that ip. We sure seem to be having alot of trouble getting it to work for you Im reflashing tonight or tommorow and then I will be able to help you again Im thinking maybe a router setting needs to be set to allow traffic from the other subnet to be able to access the wan side of your router thus the internet but let me reflash and we will go thru your network settings again
  2. Your DNS server should be your gateway address 192.168.0.1 reset it and recommit the settings this looks to be the problem digi was talking about I believe Sorry I shoulda read your post more carefully as the wise Digininja had already provided the answer you were just going about it the wrong way
  3. yeah strange but that means its settings on your fon Are you being assigned an ip address when you connect wirelessly to the fon? check windows settings is it reporting the accurate DNS server also check OpenWRT for logs Syslog and Firewall log also check the status log while connecting to the fon wirelessly to see if there are any errors ill try to trouble shoot this problem for you ill see what else i can come up with It is possible that google is saved on your computer and when you open Firefox or IE it is only pulling the page up from your hard drive not actually accessing the internet thats why we havn't eliminated a ip conflict or DNS error yet Also make sure your network configuration in OpenWRT is set to DCHP Bridged
  4. Make sure you set up the services available to users thru the nic's it would make you not able to access the net from the machines connecting thru the fon
  5. My mistake it does not need to be configured in the same subnet Windows should share the connection either way make sure you connect to the network providing internet first without the fon connected then enable ICS then update the DNS according to the router you are connected to the connect the cord to the fon whose ip should be 192.168.0.X besides 192.168.0.1
  6. change your router to have a different ip address such as 192.168.0.2 or if your using it make it something else like 192.168.0.199 this allows the ICS server ( 192.168.0.1 ) to be a client of your network assigned by your router ip address 192.168.0.X where X is any number that is not taken obviously since the nic leading to the fon has to be 192.168.0.1 then you must work around it by assigning your computer and the router different ips other than .1 the new DNS setting will be needed from the steps above as your routers is your DNS server so it will change to your newly configured address using static ip address settings on your router will be very useful for making sure your computer doesnt take the address 192.168.0.1 before the ICS'ed adapter takes it
  7. You only need to use the DNS settings from the other NIC the IP adress is set to 192.168.0.1 by default by windows to act as the server for ICS so just use the DNS address or addresses if you have two. The Ip of the Fon is set on the fon either SSH or the webif if you want is easiest for most and must be set to 192.168.0.x where X is any number 2-254 it doesnt have to be 250 like you said in previous post but you do need to remember it cause it will be the IP you access the fon with whether it be SSH or just accessing the web interfaces. So your NIC's ip is 192.168.0.1 -- assigned by windows and your FON's ip is 192.168.0.x -- assigned by fon settings hope this has cleared things up for you I think I covered everything you wanted to know let us know how things work out for you. share your thoughts and ideas as you progress :D
  8. the instructions HERE work perfectly for windows machines I have successfuly set the fon up using these instructions and implemented Hamster and Ferret to sidejack any connections that come thru. follow these instructions and if you get stuck somewhere I can help you along :) Happy hacking
  9. Yes DigiNinja has got it successfully working on these routers "Works fine on Ubiquiti Bullets and Picostations" so check these out
  10. yes this should be all you need I was succesful doing just that after the redboot was set up
  11. the Fon after being flashed will have 2 conections available the first is the admins connection to the Fon router and should show up as OpenWRT in your wireless connections the name is configurable in the OpenWRT webif under the "System" tab where it says Host Name change this to the desired name. The second connection you will change its name based on what your computer or another computer wants to access. Seems if you are using digininja's firmware there may be an issue with assigning the SSID name
  12. This wont do the same thing as the Fonera router because the fonera router basically has 2 seperate network cards in it the linksys has only one the functionality of the program is designed around the fonera router for a reason. If you get a fon router and set jasager up you will fully understand the difference and why the fonera router must be used
  13. Lol ok now i feel stupid didnt know just to unzip it and replace the files during install I had actually thought a tar file was a package type not a zipped file but u cant expect me to know something I havn't yet learned hehe thx digi your a very helpful individual
  14. I was wondering howcome when I am in the jasager interface and I turn Karma to off Why is it that I cant turn it back on without shutting down IE and going back to the interface ? is this a bug or a bad configuration of some sort also I was wondering as I am still new to linux can anyone tell me how to change the port number to get to the Jasager interface? thx for any help Ja§ager R•cks !!!!
  15. I was having the same exact problem but mine would hang on "Starting Jasager" and not go any further then nothing was accessible webif, jasager, ssh, telnet,SCP nothing These are the steps I used to upgrade from 1_2 to the 2_1.ipk package (not the 2_1-_mips.ipk) on a Windows XP service pack 3 Machine I do not know if all these steps are required nor that it will work for you but this is what I did and it worked I already had version 1_2 installed and running but since I re-flashed I dont think it is required I believe the problem is when it installs jasager package it disconnects from telnet then doesnt finish configuration ¿ but im not sure thats the fault I flashed again copied all .ipk files onto the fon in /tmp dir using WinSCP telnet to 192.168.1.1 re-installed all packages after it hung for a while I unplugged the fon and plugged it back in next I waited for i think 10-15 minutes and it poped up with a FULL connection instead of the limited connection I then accessed the webif while directly connected to the fon via wired lan Then i changed the ip address to one I knew would work on my DHCP (mine was 192.168.0.12) I rebooted the fon reconnected via wired lan again and confirmed the setting saved at this ppoint I unplugged the fon and plugged it into the router which was already set up for DHCP
  16. Hi i had version 1_2 installed and functioning great I decided to upgrade to version 2. I am using the packages and all seems to work fine all installs complete successfully then after the success message from the jasager package it says: starting Jasager then it hangs I already tried waiting longer with no outcome I cant access webif, Jasager, telnet,SSH or WinSCP I get nothing so I reboot and still nothing does anyone have any clue what is happening? Ide just use digi's firmware but I havnt much experience with linux and I dont understand how to install the firmware any help would be appriciated. Do I need to delete all the old files from my router before installing since I had ver 1_2 ¿ ¿ ¿ ¿
  17. If your using windows to install you can also move the file using WinSCP just put in the ip address change the type to SCP instead of SFTP hit login enter root for user name enter your password !!At this point it may come up with an error message about the configuration of groups if it does hit ok and proceed!!! now your in the GUI and can copy the file hit yes to overwrite it
  18. Ok ty Digi I didnt realize at first that I needed to reflash duhh sometimes Im slow I was trying to simply do a ipkg update first the pakages wouldnt download then I got the error no space and realized yeah of course theres no space Ill check out your firmware thx for the help.
  19. why did you make it blank ¿ this is the conection to access you router it should have a name It will have this conection available in the lists of networks. It basically has two network cards built in and one "OpenWRT" is to access the fon router the second network connection will be the one "mimicing" all other networks of your choice. to see if it is active make sure you conect to the routers interface and swith the KARMA button to ON refresh the page and check the list of connected clients connect with another computer to a seperate wireless connection ( any other besides OpenWRT or in your case other network ) now refresh the jasager interface and see if you are in the connected clients list IF NOT: if you are not in the list check the log on the page and read more about the funtionality of the whitelist/blacklist
