  1. @mattlestock "Yea, I have decided to move on from Hak5. I'll make a post and throw it up on my website, but I feel now is a good time to make a change."

it was nice to have you share your knowledge/information with us. best of luck to you man!

    thanks

p.s. i kind of figured this would come eventually. oh well.. shit changes

  2. in no way am i trying to be a dick about anyone who has these, but am i the only one who is surprised by people who have 'adobe reader' or '<computer co> assistant' shortcuts on their desktops. how often do you really ever open the program then go search for the file, is it not usually the other way around? i know everyone does shit differently, but it just seems like one of those things that should be deleted instantly. maybe i'm the only one who thinks like that shrug.gif

  3. just a side note 64nd. i've had misc problems with corsair xms2 & certain asus mobos in the past. you may want to be sure (through researching) that the xms3 works flawlessly with that asus mobo. i'm sure it's fine, but i've had the strangest shit happen with the corsair/mobo together

  4. heh. i got some random shit this year. i keep telling my parents & my wifes parents to not get me anything, but like you all have said, they always get you "something".

i've tried to make it easy on people for the past 2 years straight. i just say "give me a newegg gift card. they always have stuff i want. it's an easy/quick present". i have still yet to f'in get one. gr

  5. pretty good episode.

yeah, i'm sure there are a shit ton of things that could do this, but i use gSTM to manage my ssh tunnels.

my question is, what happens with some of the dns requests when using your tunneled socks5 proxy?

say you're at your job/school using firefox & your tunneled socks5, can't a *good* sysadmin eventually figure out/notice that some dns requests are going to the sites that have been blocked, which you're trying to connect to?

i remember having to set network.proxy.socks_remote_dns to true in ff's about:config to make sure dns requests are tunneled through the socks as well. is this just common sense to people, or is this worth mentioning/giving a shit about?

  6. lol fellow help desk worker in school IT department was handed a cisco WAP, plugs in network cable cant access gui. I watched him for about 15 minutes and asked if he wanted a hand. No I am fine I have a degree in comp science I can work this shit out.

I thought well fuck ya and left him to it. Watched him for around an hour chuckling to myself until I thought I would be nice and got a console cable and dropped it on his desk saying this may help you. =P

    ^haha...that's great.

i work with several idiots too. there's honestly not enough room in these text fields to dump all the ridiculous inaccurate shit i hear from them on a daily basis. but i also work for a state government dept. - it's not what you know .. it's how long you've been there.

  7. I read in an article then James Bond: Everything or nothing will have a bullet time mode like Max Payne . I just hope its false. Personnally I really dont want a bullet time mode in EON, James Bond games dont have to do like others games. Almost every new video games have this bullet time, I dont want to play as Bond and thinking: Its the same thing than Max Payne. Because a third person game with a bullet time, I dont know what you think, but its very similar to Max Payne. My opinion is: please NO bullet time in EON.

    wow. you lost me here..

  8. sharpen the edges of those bad boys and take them out to the back for some lethal Frisbee action. or if you are into the non lethal things they make wonderful wind chimes if you string them together

    they're never too old! :P

surprisingly, one of my most stable personal servers has been a P3 450MHz - still running all original hardware

  9. you updated to latest 1.5 patch too, right?

also, don't use those play online NOW shorcuts the game makes. there's a bug, at least in the Play Online Now, shortcut that causes game to freeze/crash when opening. dunno if they addressed that in 1.5 patch or not. i just noticed it was out the other day

  10. I've always favored Intel. They've seemed to be the best "power" feeling processor in my day to day computing activities. Although, I've yet to try AMD's new Phenom line, which I've heard great things about. Maybe it's time to give 'em another shot? dunno.gif
