  1. Chrome/chromium here. I recently moved over from FF, and I don't think I'll look back. Now that AdBlock blocks Ads before being loaded, it has finally solidified why I recently moved. I think the extensions are easily catching up to FireFox too(as much as possible anyway). The only part I don't quite get with Google's browser is how do you know when an extensions has an update. Does the browser/extension notify you somehow, or is it up to you to keep checking back at its extension page?

  2. hrm. thanks guys..

    ya i read somewhere about expanding the grace period, but for some odd reason i couldn't quite grasp what it was asking me to do. i'll take another look...

    (btw, the server os is activated fine, it's just the ts/rds part that i'm trying to resolve/extend)

  3. strange that i've never heard of ninite.com. that'll be pretty useful since i'm always fixing idiot users computers on the side. thx

  4. I'm running a server w/ Windows SBS (small business server) 2008 standard on it. I'm getting the typical "grace period is about to end in so many days" reminder/popup. So, of course, i'ts asking me to supply TS Licenses.

    The Retail copy of SBS came w/ the typical 5 user CALs. The server hosts a healthcare program & sql server, yes both due to financial reasons. Anyway, there are 2 people who RDP DIRECTLY into the server b/c of other misc reasons, and 2 other users who are on the domain & utilize the shares for the program on their workstiations. Here's my questions. Yes, as of right now, only 2 max *active* RDP connections are allowed. If i were to let this TS/RDS period run out, would Windows really shutdown the entire RD protocol functionality? I mean, the server doesn't fully utilize anywhere near what 2008 has to offer, in terms of remote abilities.

    The only remote feature that gets used is people actually RDing into it & running program straight off the server.

    I cannot seem to get a straight flipping answer from anyone. I've talked to 3 MS reps, and they just say "to my knowledge services will halt". I straight up ask them for a yes or no if I cannot RD directly into the server once this grace period runs up, and I get that answer pretty much every time. Does anyone here, which i know won't BS me :P, know for sure what will happen when time period is over.

    Thanks

  5. A good sysadmin can see what you are doing no matter how you try to proxy yourself, even if using an SSH or DNS tunnel, they could firewall rule them out and get alerts if people tried it.

    well that's fairly obvious to assume that wink.gif. i was just letting him/whoever know that it's an easy thing to overlook

  6. Or even better with Apache, PHP and phproxy you will be able to bypass any school firewall restriction.

    just be mindful that your dns queries aren't sent thru the proxy unless specified in about:config in firefox. (network.proxy.socks_remote_dns) needs to be toggled, if not already done so. default setting pulls the queries from your client not proxy, IIRC. any good sysadmin can eventually see what you're doing if not set.

  7. Personally I use Windows Mobile 6 and I might be one of the few people on the planet who actually likes it, but it does the job well, it's just not very pretty, though that doesn't bother me

    I think you're right. You're the only person I've ever heard of that actually likes WinMo..

  8. Bf2 is one of my all time favorite games! Defo play whenever asked lol :)

    yup same here. bf2 is one of my most played MP games of all time...will never get old!

    (BF2:SpecialForces that is)

  9. That took some balls to film that in an airport. Not that you did anything illegal per say, but I can imagine some airports, like maybe Newark or Philly that might have a conniption fit over someone walking around with cameras and wireless equipment.

    +1

    I was wondering the same thing too. I was half expecting(almost wishing ;)) that airport security would come out & taze you or something - would've made for quite an exciting clip is all I'm sayin..

  10. Hi together,

    I have reasently seen the episode about OpenVPN ALS and I want to install one on my own. There is only one problem. I'm already running an Apache Webser on Port 443 and I do not want to reverse all connections from outside to my https site over OpenVPN ALS. Is there a way to configure OpenVPN ALS being reverse-proxied by an Apache 2 (mod_proxy) in a subdirectory with an working Java Client?

    Example:

    https://server.com/VPN/ => https://127.0.0.1:445

    https://server.com/website/ => /var/www/html/index.html

    And no I do not want to use an other port. It has to be 443.

    good question. i was recently wondering the same thing. it seems like it'd be possible ... shrug.gif
