ScottyDoes
Ok, I recently came across an IBM 73PO596 mobo with some form of pentium 4 processor on it. Its in the original thinkcentre case but it has a new Thermaltake PSU. The PSU works, I tested it. However, when all plugged in, the system will not post, it will not even power on. I was wondering if there are any ways to narrow down the problem? Is it the motherboard or the CPU?
VaKo
I had a few motherboards that did something similar. I managed to "fix" them by removing the CMOS battery and leaving it in a cardboard box for a week. The simplest way would be to get another P4 motherboard, swapping the bits around and seeing what works with what.
ScottyDoes
That's what I was thinking about doing, but I'm an AMD guy so it may be hard to find one.
