i wrote this basic program because i got sick of having to deal with DOS when trying to change the permissions on XP home files.

this program isnt perfect but it does the job.

im not the best programmer in the world so its rather messy.

source code is included ( dont laugh. lol ).

cool to see someone take this idea and make a proper GUI out of it, ill try to at some point but normally when i write something i cant be bothered with it afterwards.

i really developed it for noob users who some how manage to get locked out of their files.

nots not perfect just hacked together in a hour or so.

another thing it needs is inherit parent permissions, at the time i forgot about it but it would be easy to make.

i made this program because i couldnt find any other free ones that just did the plain and simple job of what i wanted to do, who here really enjoys using DOS to do such a mundane task?

Just FYI though, that's not DOS, it's the Windows Console.

DOS is an OS, Windows NT based systems do not have DOS, though they can emulate it should it be required.

DOS Prompt on Windows 9x machines is actually DOS, just captured in a window.

Nah, he means he got sick of working in the Windows console, it's often mistaken as DOS because of the similarities... A lot of people might even refer to a Bash shell as DOS because it's a CLI just as DOS was and appears the same on screen (grey text/black background/no GUI).
